**Chapter 11: Erin's Expansion Plan** As the night began to fall, candle flames swayed in front of the window of the pastry store, a warm yellow glow reflecting off of Erin's silver hair. She was about to end her day when she heard a knock at the door. When she opened the door, Castiel's figure came into view. He was still dressed in his elegant black robes, his blonde hair shimmered slightly in the moonlight, and his blue eyes held unabashed scrutiny and deep thought. “Erin.” His voice carried a hint of firmness that could not be ignored, “I have some ideas, and I hope that we can discuss the details of the match's cooperation in more detail.” Aileen's heart tightened slightly, although she knew that this dessert competition was a key point in her cooperation with the Duke, she did not expect him to come to her door so soon. “Please come in, Lord Duke.” She smiled slightly and sidled up to let him in. The two sat at a wooden table within the store, the sweet scent of pastries filling the air, the firelight reflecting on their faces, the atmosphere warm and subtle. Castiel spoke up to break the silence, “The impact of the competition has exceeded expectations, and more and more nobles have expressed interest in our territory's sweets. I see this as an opportunity for expansion, but there is also a risk - if not managed properly, we may lose this hard-won advantage.” His piercing gaze fixed on Erin, as if testing her thoughts. Erin nodded, thinking for a moment before replying, “I understand. It's not just about the match itself, it's about maximizing the opportunity.” She paused for a moment, hesitant to fully expose the idea she had in mind regarding the expansion plan, “I have an idea, not only can we use the competition to get the nobles interested in our pastries, but we can also use this opportunity to pursue a longer term expansion plan for the pastry store.” Castiel's eyebrows raised slightly, revealing interest. He put down the wine glass in his hand and looked at Ayrin with a focused gaze, “Speak on.” Ayrin instantly felt an unprecedented pressure, Castiel's focused gaze seemed to see through her every thought. However, she also knew that this was the perfect opportunity, and that only by demonstrating her business acumen could she win more trust and respect in the Duke's eyes. “I noticed that during the competition, many of the nobles weren't just interested in the pastries, they were also enthusiastic about how they could replicate our success. This shows that we can utilize the influence of the competition to attract more nobles to work with us, and even expand the pastry store to markets outside of the territory.” Ayrin's tone was calm, yet it exuded an invisible confidence. This confidence came from her understanding of modern business models, and even though she was in a backward medieval world, she still believed that her experience and wisdom could bring change to this world. The skepticism in Castiel's eyes gradually dissipated, and was replaced with a sense of appreciation and recognition. He gently nodded his head, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes, “Are you saying that in addition to expanding the pastry store within the territory, we can also promote it to a wider market, or even establish a cross-region dessert brand through the social network between the nobles?” Ayrin nodded, “Exactly. This will not only drive the territory's economy, but it will also allow more people to learn about our dessert technology and become an industry unique to our territory.” Castiel pondered for a moment and crossed his arms on the table, “This plan is indeed visionary. However, the primary problem that needs to be solved in order to realize it is the supply chain. Our existing raw materials and human resources are far from enough to support such a large expansion.” Irene was prepared for this and responded with a smile, “Lord Duke, I have already considered this. We can join forces with the neighboring villages by developing them to grow the raw materials needed for the pastries. At the same time, we can also train more pastry chefs and expand our production capacity.” Castiel's blue eyes glittered with thought as he stood up, walked over to the window, and looked out at the mountains in the distance. The moonlight poured over his body like a silver veil weave. He turned around and spoke in a firm tone, ''This plan may be more complicated than I imagined, but I believe you are capable of it. Tomorrow, we begin to implement the first step - solving the problem of supplying raw materials.” Aileen's heart was bursting with joy, the first step of the plan had finally gained the Duke's support. However, success was not easy, and she understood that more challenges awaited her next. The next day, Irene visited several neighboring villages with Castiel to learn about the local agricultural production. She soon realized that although these villages had the potential to grow pastry ingredients, they could not effectively supply her pastry store due to the lack of transportation and resources. Faced with these problems, Irene did not back down. She knew that this was her moment to combine modern thinking with ancient ways of doing business. After returning to the manor, she began to carefully analyze the current situation of these villages and came up with a detailed plan, suggesting connecting the villages to the towns through the construction of new trade routes, while introducing more advanced agricultural techniques to enhance the production capacity of the villagers. Castiel agreed with her proposal and immediately sent an engineering team to survey the route in preparation for the construction of a new merchant road. This move gave Irene hope, and she knew that as long as this plan was implemented, the expansion of the pastry store would no longer be a dream. However, the challenges were far from over. Operating a pastry store is not just about the supply chain; there are also management and marketing challenges waiting to be solved. Just as she was pondering on how to solve these problems, Sophia suddenly appeared and brought a piece of news that made Ayrin's heart suspicious: “Recently, there are a few noble pastry stores that are quietly on the rise, and their dessert styles are extremely similar to yours, and they have even begun to mimic your unique creations.” Hearing this, a trace of uneasiness arose in Ayrin's heart. Her dessert ideas were originally the result of combining modern technology with ancient craftsmanship, but now they were being imitated by the nobles, and might even be overtaken. “It seems that our competitors are not far behind.” Castiel analyzed calmly after listening to Sophia's report. “Their rise might become a driving force for us to move forward, instead prompting us to move faster.” Ayrin bit her lip, knowing in her heart that she couldn't slow down at this critical moment. She needed to accelerate her actions and put her expansion plans into place as soon as possible to solidify her market position. Only then would she be able to stand out in this dessert war. “I will continue to push forward with the plan, but we also need to guard against these imitators.” Erin said calmly, “I won't let my heart and soul be taken away so easily.” Castiel smiled and nodded, “That's the Erin I admire. Since we have decided to work together, then I will definitely give you my full support, no matter how difficult the road ahead may be.” Ayrin looked at him and a firm strength grew in her heart. She knew that the Duke's support was more than just a superficial promise, it was an important reliance for her to be able to gain a foothold in this world. Just as the expansion plan was steadily progressing, a mysterious letter was suddenly delivered to Ayrin. The letter mentioned that a hidden noble power was secretly planning something. Irene's intuition told her that the letter might have something to do with her pastry store, and the appearance of this force might pose a threat to her plans. There was no signature on the envelope, only a meaningful sentence, “Behind every successful person, there are always many people who want to take away their glory.” Erin tightened her grip on the letterhead, her gaze becoming deep. It seemed that the challenges ahead were not only business competition, but also more complicated intrigues and traps awaiting her. She took a deep breath and secretly vowed in her heart that no matter what dangers she faced, she would not give up easily. She had to keep moving forward, taking her dessert store and expansion plans with her to meet all the unknown challenges.
