I gave her the list of things I needed then she walked away, I found her cat lying on a seat near the back corner of her shop. “Ah rider, I have heard of your deeds. I am Solomon and I am a werecat. When all hope is lost go to the magnolia tree for a weapon and the rock of Knular.” “What?” I asked him then he looked at me again but before he could answer Angela walked in with a bag. “May I ask why you need these?” she asked with a small smile, I knew I couldn’t be honest with her but I didn’t want to lie. “I am just testing something, I am tired of the mad king being ahead of us.” She nodded then handed me the small bag. “Is it at all possible to get this every week?” “I will bring it to you, if this is for what I think it is you will need to make it a bit stronger so the effects will be the same.” I went back to my room and told Godric what had been said. “I know of this Angela, she has a habit of being where great events happen.” I gave him the bag so he could make it up, it was a truth serum that I wanted to add to the water supply to help weed out all of the kings spies. I didn’t speak to anyone about doing it for fear they were working for the king, I had a bottle made up then asked all the leaders to join me in a private dinner up in my room. Once they were all there I handed each a glass to toast our survival so far and to our battles ahead, I knew it needed at least an hour to take complete effect on whoever drunk it. The night was going well until I had dinner brought out. “I want to thank you all for coming on such short notice, I am honoured to have you all here but that being said I had another reason for bringing each of you here tonight. I am not a dishonest person, I never have been but I will do whatever I must to make sure we all survive this war. Each of you drunk a small amount of truth serum upon arrival, now with the help of both my father and Godric we shall see who’s loyalty still stands with the Varden.” I wanted to speak with Orrin first. “King Orrin, are your loyalties to the Varden still standing?” he chewed on his tongue before answering. “No.” he said thru gritted teeth. “How long have you been working for the mad king?” “I work with the king for domain; he has promised me more land if I help him. I demand you stop this at once.” I smiled at him. “I knew it was you from the moment you joined Ajihad and King Hawthor in my chambers when I returned then the king said something before my cousin rode in. so you see, I never said anything of importance while in your company neither did anyone else. One more thing, how did the king find out about my family back in Carvahall?” “The twins looked into your mind when you arrived here, they told the king and he sent the razac’s to capture them.” I looked at Godric who looked a shade whiter than before. “Who are they?” I asked him. “Ancient monsters that roamed this land before we came here, they are the greatest of enemies to the dragons. They match what you told me from the other night.” I tried to remember all the writtings I had read, they killed hundreds by sucking the marrow from their bones then ate the flesh. I walked over and slapped him. “Ajihad would you like the honour or shall I?” “No the pleasure will be mine, king Orrin you have been conceived of treason and the murders of all that have died in Carvahall. The sentence is death.” “With your permission Ajihad I have another task for this thing to do first, Godric make him forget about what had really happened and replace it with memories that he got closer to us that he even thinks he might have it over us completely. Lets leak some faulty information to the mad king, tip the hand to our favour.” I enjoyed the rest of our dinner while we had Orrin taken back to his tent to rest, King Hawthor enjoyed remembering times with Godric while Brom and Ajihad talked about their pasts. Off in the distance I could see a small line moving, as I looked harder I felt Drac join me. “It’s the werecats, they are coming here.” I re-laid the message to Ajihad and within seconds the drums were beating letting everyone know that company way coming, we all made our way down to the northern gates to greet them. “Hail Ajihad, we have travelled far to come and see you, and to you rider our greetings.” We all stepped aside for them to enter, we went into the dinning hall for it was the only place big enough under cover to hold us all. “Firstly I would like to thank you all for coming, for I know that you never let others know of you until.” “Your words are fair and yes never before have we felt the need to show ourselves to the world but we have felt a change in the air this darkness is coming to an end, so we ask to join you in battle so our enemy remembers why they should still fear us.” “And this change of which you speak, what have you heard?” Ajihad asked looking at me, then all eyes turned to me as if seeing straight into my soul. “Because of her, people all across the land are waking as if they have been asleep for many years. Groups upon groups are looking for the Varden to join, we know the kull are only 3 days behind us as it is and even other creatures are coming to join. This world wants to take itself back from the clutches of the mad king and only she can do it. It is with her we will pledge our loyalty with.”
