“May I have a minute alone with her?” Godric asked Brom, Brom nodded then left and closed the door behind him. “May I see the wound?” he asked softly, I didn’t move straight away I just kept looking at him then finally I sat up and turned around to look at the wall as I pulled up my shirt and hugged it to my chest. The cut was jagged and went from my left shoulder blade down to my right hip; his touch was gentle almost like air brushing over my skin. “I will not be able to heal it completely but I do believe I can do a little more for you.” He started to sing in elvish as he touched every inch of my back, I closed my eyes and listened. Without knowing what I was doing I touched his mind, hundreds of images flashed thru my minds. Suddenly I was back in my room with Godric standing over me. “What was that?” I asked, “That was 2 minds touching each other and reading each thought.” “I am sorry I never meant to do that.” I mumbled back feeling embarrassed, he laughed softly. “You have much to learn young rider but before your first lesson I must introduce my own dragon Saphira.” I looked to the sky and saw a huge red dragon coming down from the heavens, the ground shock from her weight as she landed. I bowed my head to her. “Rise young one, I have longed for another of my kind and now you have brought one here so thank you rider.” Drac was in amazement of her, she was 3 times his size and her scales looked like hard drops of blood. I sat down with Godric and just talked about the time of the riders. “All my life, I have heard Brom tell crazy stories about the mad king and the time of the riders but I lived a simple life filled with love and warmth til the day that the soldiers came to my village, one of the men fancied me as a wife so I ran away. Now I am a rider who isn’t just doomed for being a female but now a cripple as well.” I laughed lightly, he reached across and softly brushed a hair behind my ear. With that I got up and walked back into my hut to get ready for dinner. I was in the bathe when I felt a hand on my scar. “You should go Godric, I am your student and you’re my teacher. Why did you start coming into my dreams? You must have known how this would turn out.” He looked down and sighed deeply before he answered. “I have known about you for many years. I was just a young elf when I first met her, she came to our city seeking my mother. Late one night she found me playing in the field by myself, told me about my future including my greatest love. I have waited a very long time for you Eve and now knowing you’re so close and yet I still can’t have you, it is a temptation that I am not sure that I will be able to stay away from.” His hand slowly made its way across my entire back, I hugged my knees as we stayed in silence. When I was ready to hop out he wrapped a cloth around me then his arms were around me pulling me up against him, he buried his nose into my hair. Then he let me go and he was gone, just as I walked into my room someone knocked on my door. “Miss dinner is ready.” “Just a moment please.” I called out as I quickly got dressed, a young elf girl walked me to a grand hall lined with hundreds of chairs. As I looked around I saw an empty seat between Stephen and Godric, that’s when I knew it would be a painful dinner. Drac was off flying with Saphira, I could feel his excitement and it made me smile. As I took my seat the queen stood up and spoke. “I want to thank you all for coming tonight to honour our guest, Eve daughter of Brom and Dracona son of Varell.” Her speech was long but I forgot most of it as Godric put his hand on my thigh and I lost all thought. I could feel the pull from his mind to mine but I tried to stand my ground so I closed mine off by singing an old song that I knew from somewhere. As soon as I could I excused myself from dinner and went to find Drac. He was by the hut thinking about his day, he looked my way as soon as our minds touched again. “Little one, are you ok?” “Can we fly away for a little.” He nodded so I quickly got up into the saddle and strapped myself in as I let all my memories to flow into Drac’s mind. “Oh little one, I should have stayed to keep a watch over you. I must say that I am proud that you stood your ground, would you like me to speak with Saphira?” “No that is fine, no need to make a big deal of this. Our training is the most important thing to me right now and I will not allow anyone to interrupt it.” To my great surprise Stephen came to see me once we were back on solid ground. “Hello Eve, I came to explain why I did not tell you who I really was.” “No it is fine, I understand. You owe me nothing Stephen, you helped me heal Helena’s baby and you helped save my life. But if you really wanted to make it up to me then maybe you could show me around a little.” I smiled at him, his mood lightens instantly and I followed him out into the city. He showed me the small school and to the blacksmith Rheon who was very short tempted. We sat down in the city centre and watch 2 elven children play. “They are the only 2 children to be born in the last 2oo years, it is rare that elves mate for it is a life bond when we do.”
