“Godric you should go before something happens.” I pleaded with him, his lips brushed against my shoulder blade. “Godric you are my teacher, the man who is meant to teach me how to fight and restore order to this broken world, your meant to teach me how to survive this. I understand this is hard for you because of what you have seen but nothing can happen between us until my training is complete.” I didn’t hear him leave but I felt him go, the room was a little colder without him in it but I knew I was doing the right thing. The next few weeks were filled with tension and very few words spoken but I was able to get thru my magical training without too much hard work. Exactly 16 weeks after entering Ellesmeria I had done what others had done in years to become a trained rider. On my last day in the elven city the queen stopped in to speak with me. “I want to say congratulations on graduating from your training, others may have been worried but not I you see a young girl can do much more than just wed and bare children I am proof of that.” She smiled down at me, I bowed my head at her. “I only hope that others will be pleased to see how much I can do for them as the elves are to you. Your people love you like a mother not just as their queen and that takes an enormous amount of love and care from you. I will honor my training well and make all proud of the riders again.” She gave me a small wooden box with the elven crest on it. “I have made a few small changes to what is in this for a female rider has never been before, may this help in your time of need. And I take it Godric will be leaving with you?” she smiled at me, I was too shocked to say anything at first. “I knew of my brothers visions and I must say I am glad it was you.” She kissed my cheek then left, I just sat there thinking. “Drac tell Saphira that I need to speak with Godric please.” I closed off my mind to the talk I just had, I sent word to Brom as well to come and see me. Brom arrived first and asked what was going on. “If you wait for our next guest I will explain.” I smiled at him, moments later Godric arrived as well. I sat us down out on the grass, “well my training here is done so I have to say that we need to return to the Varden but there is something that I need to tell you dad, Godric and I are together.” He just looked at him then me then back again, no one spoke for a few minutes. “Well you’re a grown woman and I trust your judgement but you are aware how old he is right?” I burst into a fit of laughter as did Brom and Godric, we decided to leave at nightfall, and Drac would take Brom and the bags so I could go with Godric and Saphira. As we were packing up some of the elves came to give me small trinkets, the queen said I could leave some here so I would always know that I had a place here waiting for me. Just as the sun started to set we took off into the sky, it took 4 days to reach the elves but that was with a lot of stopping so we hoped to take only a day or two. We slept in the saddles as dragons could see clearly in the dark and refused to stop for anything but to drink and eat, time seemed to pass by as quickly as I was told even more information from both Brom and Godric. Just before nightfall the day after leaving Ellesmeria I could see the Boer Mountains come into clear view. Drac remembered how to fly in, we had Brom go down and gather up Ajihad and King Hawthor. I had Helena take Lilly into her room while the others were there. “I am pleased your back Eve, I have missed our talks.” She smiled at me before turning and leaving, in truth so had I she was the first one to talk to me like a normal girl with normal worries and fears. I put our bags on my bed then came back into the main area to see 4 men enter my room, I knew 3 of them but it was the fourth one that I did not like at all. He was a tall man with dark skin, his eyes were like brown stone and he looked disgusted as if I had offended him. “Welcome back Eve, Brom had told us that you had changed but if it was possible you look even more beautiful now. I would like to introduce leader of the Surdans, King Orrin.” I looked at Godric with my eye brows raised. “He named himself the king.” Godric replied within my mind. “It is a pleasure King Orrin, but before I name my guest I must ask you all to swear in the ancient tongue that no one will reveal his true identity.” After arguing with Orrin for a few minutes he finally agreed. “This is Godric the last of the first riders, he was my teacher while I was away and he would like to join us in killing the mad king.” “It had been many a year since I last saw you rider, I was but a boy then.” Hawthor smiled at Godric as they clapped hands like old friends. “Its been a life time or two, and Ajihad I knew your father, he was a great friend of mine once. Eve has told me much about you and what your goals are and I am here with my dragon to help in any way we can.” “And where have you been all these years? Hiding like a child, while a rider who you would have known has wasted this world away. We need no riders, humans will win this war.” “Excuse me but I am a human and I am a rider, so what?” he eyed me up and down like a prized cow. “You look more elf to me, a traitor to your own race.”
