“Eve, you have been asked to join Ajihad in his room.” I quickly got up and followed her, she left me as we reached his guards they quickly let me in and closed the door. “Thank you for coming to see me at this hour Eve, I wish to speak to you before you leave with the elves. I want to start by saying thank you for helping to keep us all alive in the battle, for you paid a great price in helping us. Will you agree to come back after your training? It would be nice to have someone around who speaks their minds without fear, there is much you could do to stir the spirits of the men around here.” There was something in his voice that made me pause. “when I left my home I thought that I would be in hiding for the rest of my life from the kings men then I found Drac then Brom found me then I have dreams of a strange man that needs help so I go to him, he turns out to be an elf and not a man but then Brom nearly dies because of me. Then we reach here with kull behind us, then our first night Drac is badly hurt and my energy cost me 2 days then the battle and yes we won but I lost a little bit of myself in that fight and now I'm worried that all my training will be effected by this. Yet standing here with you right now, I'm just a girl hoping that you will kiss me.” I whispered the last line but he had heard and he pulled me in closely and kissed my lips so softly it felt like a feather. There were no promises made or feelings declared it was just a stolen moment between a girl and a man. By noon we set off from the mountain and headed north, only Brom, Stephen and I were the only ones to leave with the elves, it was a 4 day travel to reach their city. Drac insisted on being connected by thought to everyone as it was easier for me to talk to them from the saddle. I spent a lot of the first day learning about the history of the land and learning about the first rider Aragon. “Our race was the first to find this land, but it was the dragons who ruled over it. A battle waged between the 2 races for 100 years before by accident a dragon hatched for an elf and a bound was formed. The dragon was pure white; Varell was his name and together he and Aragon made the first of the riders. Many years later man came, they were offered the same deal as the elves, many came every day to touch an egg in hopes it would hatch. But not all dragons wanted the bonding to happen, so they became a counsel of sorts over all other dragons and those who gave up their eggs.” I spent all my awake time trying to learn as much as I could, I loved to learn I think I liked it more because girls aren’t schooled for they have no use but to wed and breed. Brom stayed close to me, we spoke often about his time as a rider. On the fourth day we reached the forest of the elven woods, we could no longer fly so we all walked the trees seemed to move to allow Drac to pass. The beauty of the forest was mesmerizing, no wonder people got lost in here so easily. Suddenly we stopped at a large old oak tree; the head elf made a signal over his heart and said something in their native tongue then the tree opened up revealing the elven city. Nothing could ever compare to this, no wonder in the human world could match them. We followed the others thru the city and up to a grand house where a lady in white swan feathers greeted us. “Greetings young rider, you have been long awaited for and to you Dracona, your kind have been sorely missed in these years. I want to thank you both for rescuing my son Stephen, I don’t dare to think what that mad king would have done to him if you had not gone to get him. I know that your journey has been long so I will let Brom show you to the rider’s huts to wash and freshen up, dinner will be served soon.” Then we were let go, I was getting weak from all the walking and soon had to have Brom help me. It was quiet a walk from the city to the training huts, once we were there he helped me lay down. “I am so sorry Eve that I could not do more, but I think there is someone here that could help you. I will be back soon, get some rest.” He kissed my forehead then left, I could feel Drac off eating a deer nearby so I closed my eyes and let sleep take me. I was sitting down under a large willow tree and the singing man was sitting just around the tree away from me. “Tell me your name?” I asked him, “I am known by any names.” “That is not an answer; it just opens up for more questions.” He laughed softly at me. “You are finally here within the elven city, I am glad.” “How did you know that? Are you here as well?” “Yes but you will not know who I am just yet young rider, for your training is in great need. I must go but I will see you again soon.” I kept sleeping there until Brom woke me up. “Eve this is Godric, he was one of my teachers. If anyone can help you more he can.” I looked to the door frame of my room and saw a male elf standing there he was the most attractive being I had ever seen but there was something about him that seemed so familiar like I had met him before.
