But somehow he helped me to mix some herbs together to slow down the poison and to help the man as well. “You risked much by coming for me; I am in your debt.” He said hoarsely as he passed out. “Eve, you must help your dragon to fly. Bring it out and let’s see what it can do.” So I did as I put it on the sand it spread its wings and yawned, I had never seen anything so magical in all my life. I picked it up and kissed its spikey head. “Are you ready to fly little one? Go on; show me what you can do.” I smiled down at it; it started to flap its wings until finally it started to hover just above my hands then higher and higher until I could not see it anymore. Suddenly from out of nowhere the sky changed to a small thunder storm, but if you looked closely enough you could see a dragon being made into a huge magnificent animal, with a roar that made every hair on my body stand on end, it landed making the ground rumble beneath our feet. “Hello Eve, I have waited 200 years to talk to you. I am Dracona and you are my rider.” A deep male voice said within my mind, I was completely amazed at that moment I could feel every part of him, every emotion. “ I am honoured to be your rider, my friend here is hurt badly and cannot travel by horse any longer is it at all possible for him to ride you?” I was nervous to ask him, I could feel him laugh at me. “Of course little one.” Then the memory of me calling him that not 10 minutes ago flashed thru my mind, I laughed. I made a soft bed for Brom to rest on between Dracona’s shoulders. “We should keep going now; we need to go to the Boer mountains to the Varden.” We rode until the horses could go no longer; I changed the wraps on Brom and remade the herb mix to slow down the poison. After Brom had gone to sleep, the man came to talk to me. “I want to thank you rider again for coming for me and I am very sorry that Brom was hurt because of it. But I must ask how you knew that I was there? How did you know to come for me?” He asked me weakly. “I had a dream of you, and then 2 nights ago I heard your voice ask me for help so I came. Did you not send for me?” “No, I am afraid that I did not I think it was Durza. He was just hoping you would come for me. I don’t think he knows you’re the rider, for a girl has ever been one before.” Suddenly Dracona hissed at the man and wrapped his wing protectively around me. Just as we started to leave the city limits, a pain ran thru my mind like I have never known before. “Rider, I seek your help I am being held prisoner at Gil’ard and I am in great need of your help.” It was the man from my dreams, he looked worse than before like he had been beaten badly. “I will come for you.” I said back just as I returned to myself. “Eve, are you alright?” Brom asked in a worried tone. “The night I found the egg I dreamt of a man in chains, and just now he spoke to me asking for help. He is in Gil’ard.” After a few minutes we were headed east to help the man that I had seen in my dreams, after 2 days of hard riding we came upon Gil’ard. “This is where the king sends prisoners for questioning; I warn you that it is brutal inside those walls.” “I will not run now, not after we have come all this way.” We slowly made our way inside; there were many floors to search and many more rooms. As the entered the fourth floor I felt a pull towards the room at the end of the hall. I slowly opened the door to see him, chained to the table and beaten badly. Brom and I quickly unchained him, just as we were about to leave someone came in. “Well well well, isn’t this a surprise we all thought that the great and powerful Brom was dead. You will never make it out of here alive with the rider. Where is he hiding? Scared we might steal your little hero away.” The man laughed evilly. “Durza, I was hoping the king had killed you for letting me steal the egg. You do not think that you can really hold us all here do you.” Then they both started mumbling something that I couldn’t understand, I made my way out with the wounded man but I always made sure that I could see Brom. Just as we were reaching the main gate, Brom was stabbed just above his heart by Durza without even thinking I grab Broms bow and shot him in the head making him disappear in a cloud of black smoke. Slowly we made our way to the trees there we got back on our horse’s; I strapped Brom in to make sure he would not fall off. I held the reins of his horse as I rode my own with the man holding on behind me. We made good distance before I was forced to stop and make camp; Brom was starting to look very sick and weak.
