Chapter Nine
Premature
Chemmy had advised Khanna to stick to the fields and wasteland, and that’s exactly what she did. She rode for most of the day until dusk, arriving at the start of a forest. Looking at the map, this was the forest of Worzmac. She was at last in the north! Dismounting from Whisper, she led him through the trees and away from the main path. She found a small grassy clearing that was perfect for the stallion to graze as she removed her bag and unrolled her blanket on the ground. A quick snack of bread and cheese and she was ready for sleep. Laying back on the hard forest floor, it was a million miles away from Chemmy’s luxurious beds! Khanna fell asleep to the sound of Whisper ripping up clumps of grass.
When she woke, it was first light, and her body ached from sleep
