Chapter 5: Arrival at Noah Dempsey Estate
Sara’s POV
James, Noah’s assistant, ushered us to the car. I glanced at Noah. “Do you need help getting in?”
He paused, then asked with a small smile, “Does my blindness not bother you?”
“Why would it?” I replied, taking his hand to guide him to the car door.
The ride was tense, unspoken thoughts filling the car. I couldn’t resist stealing glances at my new husband, wondering what kind of man he truly was.

Noah’s POV
Inside the estate, I observed Sara carefully. Her composure was flawless, but subtle signs revealed her curiosity: trailing her fingers over furniture edges, lifting corners of paintings. She was searching for something. I had to know what.
“Looking for something?” I asked casually.
Sara jumped slightly, masking her surprise with a smile.
“Oh, just admiring your collection,” she said. But her eyes betrayed a glimmer of unease.
I had suspected she might have secrets, and now it was confirmed. Over the coming days, I watched her, noting patterns: late-night phone calls, private searches, subtle glances over her shoulder.
I instructed James to investigate her anonymously. Her behavior wasn’t casual—it was purposeful.
