Ella's Pov
We enter his office, and each take a seat.
"I was impressed with the amount of effort you put into your work earlier." He tells me and I smile.
"Well thank you for helping me." I reply.
"It's really no problem," He says whilst putting all his paper work down.
"Damn, that's a lot of paper, you've basically killed a tree." I say and he laughs.
Oh his laugh is so cute.
"Right, get your book out, I want to see where you left off earlier."
******************************************
After an hour of studying, we decide to take a break.
"Do you understand it better now?" He asks me and I nod.
"It makes much more sense now, thank you." I reply.
"Good." He simply says.
Just then my phone vibrates.
From; Donté
Hey Ella, just wondering if you're free tomorrow night? Maybe we could do something together? It's just an idea so don't worry if you don't want to, I wont be offended! x
I sighed whilst thinking about it, and Mr Wilde must have thought there was something wrong, because he pipes up; "Is everything okay Ella?"
"Oh, yeah everything is fine." I simply say.
I place my phone on the table before reaching into my bag for my peach flavoured iced tea.
"Is that the Donté from class earlier?" He asks me, and I look up to see him looking at me.
"You read my text?" I ask him.
"Well you left your phone upright on the table, and it looked like the text you received bothered you, so I'm just doing my duty to look out for you." He grins and I raise my eyebrow.
"In other words you're just being nosy?" I say and he chuckles.
"Yeah basically,"
"Well to answer your question, yes it is Donté from class earlier, and his text didn't bother me." I simply say.
"Well then why haven't you replied?" He asks.
Yeah, why haven't I replied? I think to myself.
Then it hits me.
Because I want to spend more time with Mr Wilde.
That doesn't make any sense. He's my damn teacher for christs sake! I should be hating the extra time I have to spend with him, but for some reason, I don't.
I like spending time with him.
He listens to me and understands me properly. I know he's my teacher, so that means he kinda has to, but that doesn't matter to me.
(if my font is changing a lot, I'm sorry, my laptops f*****g up so I will sort it as soon as)
But I know nothing can ever happen between me and Mr Wilde as he is my teacher, it's illegal, and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want anything to do with a 16 year old.
"Have you already got a boyfriend or something?" He asks me.
"No, I don't. Do you?" I ask, and immediately regret it in case I've gone past the teacher-student boundaries.
"No, I don't have a boyfriend." He smirks at me.
"I meant girlfriend." I roll my eyes and he chuckles.
"No, I've just recently split up with my girlfriend because she cheated on me." He tells me.
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." I reply, and he smiles.
"Thank you, that means a lot. No one was really there for me throughout the course of the breakup because my family had their own problems to deal with, so I didn't want to burden them with mine. It hurt a lot though because I believed we we're going to get married and have children, but clearly I was wrong. Sorry, you don't need to hear this, you probably think I'm really weird now unloading all of my problems onto you." He finishes saying and I take a moment to process what he's just said.
This poor man had to go through something heartbreaking alone. Heartbreak is awful. You can feel your heart aching for that one person, who will never come back to you for whatever reason.
"I don't think you're weird at all. I just think you need someone to talk to. I'm here if you need someone to talk to. I appreciate that this is probably breaking all the student-teacher rules, but I would just hate to resent someone that needed someone to talk to." I reply and he smiles.
"I think we already broke those rules when we made that deal," He tells me. "Thank you Ella, that's very sweet of you. You're so different from all the other 16 year olds in this school."
"Different in a good I hope?" I question.
"Definitely different in a good way. I've noticed all the other girls try and hike up their skirts when they talk to me, and they bat their eyelashes, but you're different." He studies me.
"Well that's because other girls are just looking for a quick f**k, and don't know how to present themselves properly to an attractive male. That or they just want better grades and they think that's the only way they can get them." I admit and he smirks at me.
"What?" I ask, not realising what I just said.
"You said they don't know how to present themselves properly to an attractive male." He reminds me and I swear I feel my cheeks heat up.
"Oh, erm, yeah, well I just meant they don't know how to talk to guys properly hahaha." I laugh nervously.
Smooth Ella, smooth. My subconscious mocks me.
"Yeah yeah okay whatever you say." He smirks.
"Don't tease me." I try and put on a grumpy face but it fails because he just laughs.
"Is that supposed to be scary?" He grins.
"It's supposed to make you shut up." I pout.
"I'm sorry, I'll stop," He smiles. "Well looks like we're done here. Same time next week?" He asks and I nod.
"Good. How are you getting home?" He asks.
"I'm walking, I didn't bring my bike or car today." I tell him.
"I can give you a lift home if you want?" He offers.
"Oh no, I don't want to burden you, I can walk its fine." I smile.
"Nonsense, I insist. I'd like to know you're home and safe." He smiles.
"Well okay, thank you."
"No problem, I just help you'll be okay getting in the same car as an attractive male." He smirks at me and I blush again.
"Shhh! Teachers are still here! You don't want them getting the wrong idea do you?" I hiss.
"Calm down Ella, it's late so only the head teacher will be here, in his office, downstairs, so chill." He tells me and I nearly have a heart attack.
Does he not care about his job? Chill? He sounds like a 15 year old.
"Sorry for caring about the fact that if anyone heard that they might get the wrong idea and it could result in you losing your job." I grumble.
"You're so sensible. I admire that." He tells me and I roll my eyes whilst following him to his car.
He owns a little black Golf, which is adorable if I'm honest.
I hop into the car and do my seatbelt up.
"Isn't this kind of against school rules?" I ask and he looks at me.
"Which part?" He smirks and I roll my eyes again.
"The part where you drive me home? If Mr Langdon (the headmaster) saw this, what would he think?" I question him.
"Well I'm just simply taking you home as you have no other way to get home and it's dark outside so I'm worried for your welfare." He grins.
"I take back what I said earlier, I do think you're weird." I giggle, and so does he.
"Hey, be nice to me, I'm helping you." He pouts.
This is so weird, he's acting like my friend, not my teacher.
Well I guess we are out of school now so technically it doesn't apply.
"Where do you live?" He asks me.
"25 Albert Way." I reply.
"No way! I live directly opposite from you." He says.
"You live at 27?" I ask, shocked because that's a big house.
"Yes! That's so weird that we've never bumped into each other before." He says.
"Its probably because I'm nocturnal." I grin and he laughs.
"Did you reply to that boy?" He inquires.
"Oh not yet, I forgot to." I respond.
"Are you going to go out with him?" He questions.
"Probably. I have nothing better to do tomorrow after school anyway, and he seemed alright earlier when I met him." I admit and he nods.
He opens his mouth to say something, but then clamps it shut.
"Were you going to say something?" I ask and he shakes his head.
"Nothing important."
Weird. I think to myself.
"Oh okay, well if you want you can just park at yours and ill walk over to mine, as it seems a bit pointless pulling into mine and reversing back into yours." I offer and he smiles.
"If its what you want. I would invite you in but I'm afraid we've broken too many rules today." He smirks.
I wish he would stop doing that because I get all tingly down there.
"Maybe another day." I smile.
"Of course." He replies.
"See you tomorrow Sir." I say and go to get out the car but I'm dragged in again.
"Mattie." He says.
"What?" I ask, confused.
"My names Mattie out of school." He tells me and I smile.
"Well I'll see you tomorrow, Mattie." I say and he smirks.
"Goodnight Ella."
