Ella's POV;
I wake up feeling rather s**t.
I remember most things that happened last night.
I remember getting to the party and I wanted to get smashed because of what Mattie said, then I don't remember the party, but I do remember waking up on Joe's sofa early hours of this morning, and I remember fighting with Mattie again.
I hear Joe talking and roll my eyes because that must mean Mattie's still here.
I look in the mirror at my appearance and groan. I looked like s**t.
I kept Joe's black t-shirt on and just went out in that, as I didn't really care.
As I walk into the kitchen, they immediately stop their conversation.
"Please, don't stop on my account," I smile sarcastically.
"How are you feeling El?" Joe asks, ignoring my rudeness.
"I feel like I look," I groan.
"Like s**t then?" Joe smirks.
"Yes Joseph like s**t," I grin.
"Could you not put more clothes on?" Mattie raises his eyebrow at me.
"God I didn't realise my dad was here," I roll my eyes.
"Why are you here anyway?" I ask him.
"I'm visiting my brother, is that okay with you?" He asks sarcastically and I ignore him.
I didn't need to fight today, I didn't feel like it.
"I'm just gonna grab my stuff and walk home Joe, mums probably wondering where I am," I say to him.
"What about your bike?" Joe asks me.
"I'll get Blake to drop it round being as its at his," I tell him.
"I'll drop you home," Mattie offers. "And before you protest, just stop being difficult and get in the car,"
He knows me too well.
"Fine," I sigh.
"I've charged your phone for you," Joe tells me.
"Oh thank you," I reply.
As if on cue, my phone starts ringing.
I look at the caller ID and its a random number.
Squinting my eyes, I pick up reluctantly.
"Hello?" I speak down the line.
"Hi, um your number was written on my arm and I was wondering who you were," Andrew says.
I remember meeting him, but I don't remember anything else. Joe did tell me he had to stop me from sleeping with some random guy though so I'm guessing that was Andrew and I didn't have s*x with him.
"Oh hi Andrew, its Ella, the girl who dumped juice on your ex girlfriend," I say, remembering that he told me that fact last night.
I looked at Mattie out the corner of my eye to see a slight smile curving on his lips as if he remembers the memory too.
"Oh Ella! We didn't?..." He trails off.
"No no we didn't," I say, knowing what he meant.
"Oh good good, I mean good as in I wouldn't have wanted you waking up regretting anything," He says, causing me to smile.
"Did you wanna grab a bite to eat sometime? Just so we can get to know each other?" He asks and I glance over at Mattie.
He looks up at me and I hold his gaze for about 3 seconds before looking away.
It would only be as friends, if he tried anything I would call him out because I do still like Mattie. A lot.
"Ella?" Andrew snaps me out my daydream.
"Oh um sorry, yeah of course," I ask.
"I'll text you," He says.
"Okay, Bye Andrew," I say before hanging up.
"What did he want?" Mattie immediately asks me.
"To hang out sometime," I whisper and he nods.
"Well I best be going, I'll see you later Joe, thank you for everything" I hug him before following Mattie out the door.
I put my things at my feet and put my seatbelt on.
Mattie gets in the other side and starts the car.
The whole car journey was silent. Neither of us tried to make conversation.
"Thanks," I say before grabbing my things exiting the car.
He didn't say anything, he just parked his car into his drive and went in his house as did I.
"Ella!" Renee shouts before hugging me.
"Hello," I smile before hugging her back.
"I'm dating that guy I liked now," She beams.
"Aw Ren, I'm so happy for you," I smile.
"Thank you, I'm meeting up with him later and we're going to the park," She practically glows and I smile at her innocence.
"Ella!" I hear mum shout.
I walk upstairs and see she's in my room.
"What are you doing in here?" I ask her.
"I was collecting your washing and then this caught my eye, this English homework is supposed to be done by Monday! You're not failing English again are you? I thought you brought your grade up?" She questions.
"Mum, I'll do it later, and no I'm not failing English again, and it did help!" I defend myself.
"Hmm, well I've left Mr Wilde a message asking if he would come over later and help you with it," She simply says and my eyes widen.
"What? Mum why?" I raise my voice.
"Because I just don't want you to fail El," She says and I sigh.
I really had no energy to argue so I just nodded.
Plus then hopefully it would give me and Mattie a chance to talk.
I'm still mad at him for what he said, but I missed him.
"Ooh he's just replied! He'll come over at 1. Renee is going out in a bit, and I'm going out at half 12 to grab lunch with Blake's mum, so please be respectful," She pleads.
"Me? Not respectful? Respectful is my middle name," I smirk.
"hmm," Is all she says.
**************
After showering, and changing my clothes I go downstairs and make some tea.
I boil the kettle and the doorbell goes, so I make my way over there.
I open the door and almost die at the sight.
He's standing there in black skinny jeans and a football t-shirt.
I gesture for him to come in and he does.
"Um, I was just making tea, did you want one? Or would you like a drink or something?" I ask him.
"Tea would be nice thank you," He smiles and I nod.
"Well I've already started on my piece of writing, its open on the laptop," I nod my head towards my laptop on the table.
I brought it down because I didn't want to be alone with him in my room.
He nods before taking a seat at the table, and I leave him to read what I've written so far.
Mattie's POV;
I take a seat at her dining room table, and move my finger on the laptop pad, forcing it to come to life.
I started reading her piece, when she had a tab open that caught my eye.
I looked around the room to see if she was coming and she wasn't.
I open the tab to see another piece of writing.
My Muse.
He was beautiful. Eyes sparkled brighter than the moonlit sky, and smile was so extraordinary it put the Mona Lisa to shame.
She was always in awe of his beauty, and he never knew why. He didn't know how fast he made her heart beat when he was close to her, and how electricity ran through her veins before he even touched her.
She was clearly in love with him, although she would never admit it to him through fear. Fear that was placed into her head by him. Her love for him made her afraid, as it was the kind of love that occurs over time.
She had only known him for a short time, but she was sure she loved him. But did he feel the same? That's what made her fearful.
He was the kind of beauty that she longed to touch. She was infatuated with him and she knew there was no turning back now. He would forever remain in her heart, her thoughts and her veins.
Who knew love could be such a beautifully dangerous emotion?
Lord knows what she would be without him.
He was her muse.
I read her writing over and over again.
It was truly fascinating.
How have I never seen any of this?
"What are you doing?" She asks, before coming closer and snatching the laptop off me.
"Why are you reading this? I didn't ask you read this one!" She yells at me.
"Ella, why?" Is all I can manage to say.
"Why what?" She snaps at me.
"Why haven't you shown me your personal writing before? Its magnificent!" I express.
"You answered your own question when you said 'personal'." She retorted.
"Ella, you could have shared this with me,"
She sighs before taking a seat next to me.
"No I couldn't because its about you. I'm not very good at saying how I feel so I write it instead. I couldn't show you this in case it scared you off," she mumbles.
"Baby, listen to me," I grab her hands and give her direct eye contact.
"I'm a d**k okay? I didn't mean any of the s**t I said I was scared too. I didn't want you to tie yourself down with me and not ever see the world, because like you said we would have to sneak around until next year, and I was worried you were only doing it to make me happy. I was also scared because I have deep feelings for you too. Extremely deep feelings. I'm scared because its not normal to develop such strong feelings in the space of a couple of months. f**k everything Ella, I wanna be with you, I don't care about the risks, I promise you I want you and only you," I finish saying, and I search her eyes for any kind of emotion.
She leans closer to me and kisses me so gently. It was a soft and passionate kiss, and I knew it was her way of expressing her feelings.
"Promise me you'll never leave me again?" She whispers.
"I promise baby, cross my heart,"
