Ella's POV;
We all made our way downstairs, where the table was all set out.
I sat next to Joe, mum and dad sat at either ends of the table, and Mattie was sat next to Renee, opposite me.
"Did you find the toilet okay?" mum asks Mattie.
"Oh yes thank you," he smiles politely.
The rest of the dinner went on with mum and dad talking a lot about Mattie's profession, and him kicking me ever so gently under the table.
I kept getting glimpses of him watching me, just studying me, but I pretended not to notice.
"So you've been promoted to head of bullying?" mum asks Mattie.
"Yep, they decided to give me the place as they know I've got quite good people skills," he tells her.
"Aw that's nice, so Ella, if you get any problems regarding bullying, you know where to go now," mum beams at me.
