Their horses were tied and hidden deep in the thickets—for it was well known that vampires had no use for steeds, being swifter than any beast. Moving carefully through the trees, the trio found a small, concealed grove where they could rest. There, they kindled a fire and began roasting meat, gathering strength before continuing their search for the Seer.
