“Unfinished Business”
Isabella’s POV
Work.
That’s what I needed to focus on.
Numbers, reports, emails—anything that kept my mind occupied.
But no matter how much I tried, I couldn’t erase the image of her barging into Adrian’s office like she belonged there.
Victoria.
Even her name irritated me.
It wasn’t the first time I had seen her. The first had been at the gala, when she had clung to Adrian’s arm like a prized possession. I had assumed then that they were still involved. It wasn’t my business, nor did I have a reason to care.
At least, that’s what I told myself.
But seeing her again, seeing the way she had waltzed past Melissa and stormed straight into his office as if she still had a claim on him… it made something twist uncomfortably inside me.
I shouldn’t be bothered.
