After Skylar, James, Sadie, Dylan, and the three guardians traveled for ten hours to arrive at the Tipped Fire Pack territory.
A guard stood watch every twenty feet surrounding the perimeter of the property. This was very off-putting to the royal entourage.
James approached the closest guard, "Hello, I am King James Mason. We are here to visit with your Aphla and Luna."
The guard noticed them but didn't say a word. The act of not speaking to the Elemental King and Queen was disrespectful.
Jacob huffed, "These guys are so hateful. What are they even standing guard for? They look like they are itching for a fight."
"Does that mean we are welcome or that we need to wait here?" Jerrika questioned as she gave Jacob a look of distrust.
"I can say whatever I want. No one can see or hear me but you anyway," Jacob said as he danced around everyone.
A young boy, about three or four, stood off to the side of one of the guards, began to giggle and dance around following Jacob's movements. Everyone watched the little boy with grins, but only Jacob and Jerrika knew why the little boy was being so playful. This had Jacob question some of the things that he didn't understand. How did this innocent child see him?
Jerrika smiled as she thought to herself, "I wish there were a way for me to communicate with Jacob without looking like I am appearing to talk to myself."
James c****d his head to the side, "What does he find funny about us?"
At that moment, Alpha Andrew and Luna Anna walked up to them. They bowed their heads but the guards still showed no respect to the Alpha or Luna either. Something wasn't right about this disrespect that they had.
"Welcome to Tipped Fire," Alpha Andrew stated rather harshly.
Skylar smiled, "Thank you. We look forward to meeting all of your pack and learning more about you and them."
Luna Anna nodded, "Please follow me, Queen Skylar."
Anna began to walk back towards the town but the men weren't allowed to follow. This concerned Skylar, Sadie, Jerrika, and Abby. This was not what they were expecting from an Elemental pack. Skylar took a look back as the guards held James, Dylan and Dalton behind the border lines. This was very unsettling. What were they planning to do with them?
Jerrekia slowed down so she could whisper to Jacob without the others hearing her, "What is going on? They didn't see you so you can come with us, but I want to stay back so we can know what they have in store for our men."
"I am more worried about what they have in store for you, ladies," Jacob said with a frown. "I have never heard of a pack not allowing men in from other packs, usually it is the women who are banded because they don't want their soldiers and guarded to find their fated mates and leave."
Luna Anna hollered back to Jerrika, "You need to stay close to the group."
Sadie defended Jerrika, "She is one of our guardians. I am sure she is just looking over the surroundings to ensure that we are not in any danger. That's her job."
"Jerrika, honey, please come closer to us," Skylar said in a too-sweet voice.
Jerrika smiled because when they were kids and Skylar used that voice, she meant just the opposite. Jerrika took off to run a lap around the town to see if anything was amiss but everything seemed normal except only the women were in the town and not a single man was in sight. They were all guarding the borders. This was very unusual indeed. Jerrika appeared at Skylar's side before Luna Anna even realized that she was gone.
Jerrika spoke to Skylar, Sadie, Abby, and the men through the mind link, "The town only has women and girls. The only males that I saw were under the age of two or maybe three. They have all the boys on the borders. This is very unsettling. All the women seem at ease but what are they expecting if they are keeping all the women, girls, and babies inside the city?"
Dylan replied, "They are making us walk to a cabin on the outside of the border for our meeting. We have to prove that we mean no harm and that we have already met our fated mates before we can enter. This isn't normal procedure, especially with us being the royal entourage." Dylan's mind link was cut off with a grunt.
Luna Anna growled, "Do not communicate through mind link, this will only hurt your men more. You want us to respect you but you aren't giving us any respect. We have never answered to any kind of royal jackass and now you want us to follow you. We didn't even except your invitation to the crowning ceremony or the wedding or for you to come here. We don't need you at all. Don't think that we have to show you the generosity that you expect. What are you going to do to throw all 207 members of our pack into prison? That will go over real well with all of the other packs."
"Luna, we are here to hear what you what to say. We aren't going to demand that you follow us or be imprisoned. We want what is best for all. We are looking for guidance and assistance to be better," Skylar was explaining. "We aren't looking to tower over you, we are looking to work with you."
"You say that now," Luna Anna stated bitterly. She opened the door to what had to be the packhouse but it was rather small for a pack of this size. "Welcome, to our humble home."
Sadie smiled, "Thank you for allowing us into your home."
Jerrika wished she could stay outside because she saw Jacob running towards her but Luna Anna closed the door between them. There was no way for the two of them to communicate. She couldn't be in two places at once, she was fast but not that fast.
