Mitch walked through the castle doors not one guard looked his way. This was confusing to him. He heard that Tabitha was in the hospital wing. He walked down to see if he could find her. Mitch stopped at the desk and asked the nurse for her room number. The nurse didn’t look up or acknowledge him at all.
“Hey, will you please help me?” Mitch repeated to the young nurse at the desk. She just kept typing away at her computer as if he wasn’t there.
A doctor passed by, “Jamie, I need you to get Tabitha ready to move back to her room.”
“Right away, Dr. Clover,” Jamie said with a smile. She stood up and grabbed a folder with Tabitha’s name on it as she walked away.
Mitch just followed her.
Eliza was sitting in the chair next to Tabitha. “Hello, Eliza,” Mitch said as he entered.
Eliza didn’t look up at him. She talked to Jamie and asked Tabitha if she was ready to go home.
“Yes, ma’am, I can’t wait to get back to my life. Whatever that might be,” Tabitha answered. “Who are you?” Tabitha asked while looking at Mitch.
“My name is Mitch. My wolf brought me here. He wants me to talk to you,” Mitch answered her.
Eliza looked around, confused, “Tabitha sweetie, who are you talking to?”
“Mitch! Don’t you see him standing right there by the door?” Tabitha stated, frustrated.
Eliza just shook her head, “There isn’t anyone there by the door. Maybe you aren’t ready to go home after all.”
Mitch lowered his head, “That would explain why everyone just ignored me. If they can’t see me, but you can. However, I don’t know why that would be possible.” Mitch pulled his phone from his pocket and called Jerika again, but her phone went straight to voicemail.
"What do you mean everyone you saw ignored you? Why can't Eliza see you?" Tabitha was suspicious.
"Who are you trying to talk to?" Eliza asked again. "Jamie, I think she may be hallucinating now."
Jamie looked over her file, "She hasn't sustained any head injuries. I don't know what would be causing the hallucinations. Let me call Dr. Clover in and see what he wants to do."
Tabitha started laughing, "I am just messing with you. I am not seeing anything. I was just talking to myself." As she looked at Mitch again.
Mitch shook his head, "I don't know what is going on. Will you talk to me when we are alone?"
Tabitha gave him a slight nod but nothing that caused Eliza or Jamie to question her.
"Let's get you dressed and ready. Jamie, will you go get the wheelchair ready?" Eliza encouraged.
Mitch smiled, turned, and walked out of the room. As funny as it may be for him to stay and watch Tabitha get dressed, he wasn't interested in her that way. He had questions he needed answered, and seeing her naked wasn't in his plans.
As he stood outside the room waiting for Jamie and Eliza to wheel Tabitha out, he tried to call his wife again. This time Jerrika answered, "Mitch, where are you?"
Mitch explained that his wolf had taken control and had taken him back to the old council. His wolf wanted to talk to Tabitha and had a list of questions that they needed answered. He was confused about no one seeing him, which also frustrated him to no end.
"I wonder if Tania had something to do with that. Is Mel with you by chance?" Jerrika asked cautiously.
Mitch was even more confused now, "Who's Mel?"
"Skylar and James's daughter," Jerrika stated as a matter of factly.
"Jerrika, honey, they have a son. I don't know of a daughter," Mitch said, confused again. At that moment, Tabitha was being wheeled out of her room. "I need to go talk to Tabitha. I will call you again soon."
"No, wait. No one remembers you or Mel except Jacob and me. I wonder if Tania may have cast a spell, and it worked on you and Mel. I wonder if she is the one who has her," Jerrika said as her thoughts became words.
Suddenly, there was a scream, and Jerrika's phone went silent.
Mitch, worried, called into his phone, "Jerrika! Jerrika!" But there was no reply.
Tabitha looked over her shoulder, "How long have I been here?"
Eliza smiled, "A few days."
"I just arrived about an hour before I showed up in your room," Mitch answered the question that he knew was meant for him.
"I don't understand why," Tabitha said, leaving her thoughts incomplete.
Mitch nodded, "My wife, Jerrika, thinks that Taina may have cast a spell making everyone forget me and making me invisible."
"We have been over this. When Taina brought you back to the castle, you were unresponsive," Eliza answered at the same time.
Tabitha shook her head, "Taina wants everyone's powers. I don't know why she did this to me and didn't take my powers."
Mitch nodded, "What are your powers?"
"We don't understand why she took your place. She had some plan in place when she did that. Do you remember where she took you?" Jamie asked again. They had kept asking her the same questions over and over.
"I just want to lay down, please," Tabitha stated harshly.
Eliza smiled, "I thought you might want to take a bath before you got back in bed."
"No!" Tabitha yelled.
Mitch knew she wanted to talk to him but didn't know what she remembered. He had only thought of what his wolf was screaming in his mind.
"You have to ask her what she knows about Tania. We must save the gods and goddesses," Maze screamed again inside Mitch's mind.
Mitch thought back, "I know, Maze. Will you please stop screaming? You have already brought us here. Please let me do the rest."
Maze growled, "I will see if I can reach her wolf."
"No, don't do that. What if her wolf is as hurt and confused as she is?" Mitch asked, but Maze was already gone.
Eliza and Jamie helped Tabitha onto the bed and left her alone.
"Mitch, why would your wolf bring you here to see me? I don't know you. I have never met you before," Tabitha whispered when they were alone.
Mitch sat down in the chair beside her bed, "I don't know. Maze says you have information about Taina and know how to save the gods and goddesses."
Tabitha narrowed her eyes and smiled, "I have information but it will cost you." Then she let out the most evil laugh Mitch had ever heard.
