“We’ve just pulled clear of the Acolyte ships, Captain,” said Sonia. “I’m still struggling to believe this. It’s so eerie!”
“I know,” replied Drake. “But that eeriness is getting us and all of the children we rescued safely away. I’ll still be damn glad when it’s over.”
“Just as long as it isn’t over too soon. There’s a hell of a lot of firepower we’re still in range of.”
