Drake sent the troopers, the hackers and several others into the Dagger’s airlock to save a few seconds when they docked. Then it was a matter of waiting. For the others that meant hearing the weapons fire and feeling the occasional collision, but not knowing the details of what was happening or even how close they were to the Soul Stealer. Drake could tell exactly how close they were thanks to his link with the Azimuth.
At the ten second mark he started counting down, not wanting to lose even the few seconds it would otherwise have taken his team to realise they’d docked. At two seconds he ordered everyone to brace.
