9 As the Dagger exited jump an alarm blared out, warning there were many ships nearby. Drake had expected no less and was as ready as he could be without being able to see what was out there yet. “Get us moving!” he shouted. “Aye, Captain.” The Dagger started to surge forwards, but then another alert flared and it slowed again. Drake cursed. Whatever was out there was in the way. The Dagger wouldn’t be able to start moving until someone on the bridge regained their sight and could steer around it, which meant they would be an easy target for the ships out there.
