Ryan was ready to go by 7:00 am. He had his regular breakfast and coffee. He was very anxious about leaving. It was almost an excitement that he was experiencing. Ever since he was a kid he always enjoyed mountain trail trips. As soon as he was done with his breakfast, he grabbed his bag and headed for his car. Ryan was heading over to pick up Joe. All he could think of was both of the conversations that he had with Joe and Brian at separate times. He did not know if he could trust either one of them, so he knew that he had to really take things slow when it came to the two of them. Because, really he did not know them very well, and he had only just met them. They were getting very involved with him. He felt that kind of weird sensation. As soon as he got over to Joe’s house, Joe was already outside waiting for him with his bag on his back. Joe had snuck out of the house, so that he did not wake up Brian; but Brian had heard the car pull up and looked out the window and saw Joe getting into the car with Ryan. Brian just stared out the window as they pulled away. He was thinking why was Joe lying to him about today, as well as sending him on this wild goose chase to another part of the state.
Brian did not know where they were going, but he noticed that he had a bag with him; so Brian felt that he was going to be gone all day. He was thinking where could they be going, and then he remembered that they had put tracking on their phones for each other. They did it after one night of talking about Alien abductions, and thought that everyone should be able to be tracked. That would take away from some of the hidden mystery of where certain people had disappeared to. Brian turned on his tracking program and all of the sudden he could see what direction they were heading in. It was unambiguous that they were on some hunt and it had to do with the sighting in the west desert. He got dressed and put together some things that he thought might come in handy. Before he left the house, he checked the location on his phone one more time, and they were still heading in the right direction; which was to go to the west desert.
He got in his car and looked down and realized that he needed to stop for gas. Since he forgot to do it yesterday because; he was looking for Joe most the day. As it was, he was feeling impatient. He stopped and filled up and then was off to the west desert. It was going to be around two hours to get there, so he knew that they would not see him following them. Brian felt it was a good thing that he was thirty minutes behind. In Ryan’s car, the two of them were talking about where they were going to hike. Ryan had a spot mapped out and plotted on the map. He handed it to Joe, to get his opinion. Joe knew where to keep him from going, and Ryan had a plotted hike to take them right through the location; which he was told to keep him away from. Joe knew that he had to do something before they were off on their hike. Joe had a cup of coffee and he had an idea. He grabbed his coffee cup and accidently spilled his entire cup on the map, and then said “oh s**t,” then grabbed a napkin and began wiping off the coffee, and the plotted trail on the map at the same time. It frustrated Ryan that he could be that clumsy and spill his coffee on his only map, and in his car. He was visibly upset at the situation.
Joe said that he was very sorry about his accident, and that he would be more careful. He had wiped off the entire location that had been drawn out on the map by Ryan the night before. He told Ryan that he remembered where the location was, and that he would replot it as soon as the paper was dry. Ryan had no choice at that moment but to let Joe replot it for him. He felt unprepared right at that moment, because at that instant he was not in control, and Ryan was used to being in control. Ryan was quiet for a while, because what had happened, had him upset, and he knew that he had to get over it, because it was just an accident; and it was not on purpose, so he thought. It was a long drive, so the map had plenty of time to dry. As soon as Joe noticed it was dry, he replotted the hike, which took them on a different trail. After their two hour drive they got to the turn off that would take them closest to the trail they were going to take. As soon as they pulled off the main road, they were on a dirt road, so they had to drive slower, because it was a very wash boarded road.
Brian was now thirty minutes behind Ryan and Joe. Brian was still seeing where they were going since he still had phone service, and Joe’s phone was turned on. Brian wanted to keep a distance between him and Joe. He did not want Joe to have any clue that he was following them. As soon as he pulled off on the dirt road, he kept an eye on when they stopped and the trail they were taking. Brian was going to park a little ways away from where they parked, so they would not see his car. He parked off the path, so it would not be seen from the road, even if they drove by it. He saw that their movement had slowed to a walk, which is how he knew they had parked and were they were on foot at this time. He found a spot about a quarter of a mile, from where they were at. Brian grabbed his bag and got out of his car and started to walk their direction. Ryan and Joe were moving very slow, meaning that they were going up a hill. Brian was good with maps and he had his map out. He could tell where they were at from the GPS on his phone and the map he had out.
Brian kept heading their way, but he made sure that he was far enough away from them at any given time. Ryan and Joe were following a different trail then what was originally marked, but was rubbed off due to a coffee spill. They were actually in a roundabout way heading away from where the sighting took place. But Brian had read the same reports that had been given to Ryan, so he knew that they were moving in the wrong direction. The trailhead led off to many different paths, so they needed to keep track where they were going or they could get lost. Ryan did have a GPS but it didn’t seem to be working. It could not get a signal, but he was not aware of this since he did not turn it on until they had gotten around fifty minutes away from the car. At that exact moment, Brian lost connection with Joe’s phone. It was as if he had it turned off, or something was blocking the signal from going out.
Brian had their last known location, so he knew the general location to head towards. Brian got around a large hill and started to hear voices, and he recognized the voice of Joe, because he had known him for many years. He was careful to not get noticed. He could hear Joe tell Ryan the directions to go, because for some reason Joe had the map. But, Joe also knew the location of the sighting, because he and Brian both took the message from the website. Brian decided to break off for a little bit and head towards the sighting location, to see if there were any signs of activity. Joe had taken them thirty minutes in the wrong direction, and on a trail that was far enough away that they might never find what they were looking for. Brian was getting very winded, because he was not the athletic type and neither was Joe, for that matter. Brian finally got to the sighting spot and noticed that there was a difference in the vegetation. Nothing was growing, like the ground had been sterilized, and the insect population, was not there. Up until that point Brian could hear crickets or something like them chirping in the background. Once he got to this spot he knew it was the correct area because it was dead quiet.
It was early spring so some of the trails were muddy and the vegetation was not very overgrown. Most of the hills were green with growth, but not the location that Joe was keeping Ryan away from for some reason. Brian hiked around that location for a little bit. He started to feel uneasy like he had eyes on him. It was like when you walk into a room and everyone looks up at you, which is how he felt at that moment. Joe and Ryan seemed to be walking around in circles, because Joe said he lost track of where they were on the map. Ryan pulled out his compass and took the map from Joe. Ryan had done many orienteering courses in the military. Ryan was going to do what is called a resection, with a map and his compass to find their location. Ryan found a prominent land feature and then located it on the map. From where he was, he shoots am azimuth, “which is the direction you are pointing the compass,” with the compass directed north, then with that directional line, he draws that on the map, then he finds another land feature on the adjacent side, and does the same thing, and where the lines cross on the map, that is their location. Joe was not impressed, because he knew that Ryan would want to go the other way.
Ryan knew that they were in the wrong spot. He knew the general location that he had plotted on the map, so he started to head towards that area on the map. Brian was wandering around the area, very sure that he was being watched. When out of nowhere two strange looking men in black suits show up about one hundred feet behind him. As soon as he noticed them, Brian started to panic, since no one knew he was there. Brian had kept track of where he was on the map, so he knew what direction his car was located. Brian was getting very scared. These men were following him, and he could not lose them. At that moment, all he wanted to do was get back to his car, and get out of there. He was at least an hour away from his car, so he kept running around hills, so that he could get going in the opposite direction; but, at every turn there were the two men. Ryan and Joe seemed to be going the direction that Ryan had originally plotted on the map. That was taking them fairly close to where Brian and the two other men were at.
Brian got the feeling that the two men really wanted him out of the area, so he kept traveling North according to the map even though his car was Southwest from his present location. He was going to make it to his car from a roundabout way, which was a really long way. The further away Brian got from the area, the two men seemed to back off and let him escape their sights. Joe seemed to have a mental connection with the two men. He knew that Brian was there and was heading around the hills a half a mile away from them. Ryan and Joe had been out in the sun for several hours. Joe said that he needed to take a break, so they both sat down and had a snack and water. Really, Joe just wanted to give Brian time to make it around them so that they would not run into him. Joe did not want him and Ryan to meet up, because he could take Ryan right to the area that he encountered the two men in suits. After about twenty minutes of taking a break, Ryan said “time to keep going.”
Brian just wanted to get out of the area. He was tired and scared, and he did not know what he had gotten himself into. He knew that this area was the hot spot of the Alien activity. But he could not deal with it right now all by himself. Brian finally made it back to his car. He got into his car and sighed a sigh of relief, and all he wanted to do was get the hell out of there. He started his car and just headed back home. Ryan made it to a clearing that he thought would make a great camping spot for him and Amanda this weekend. Joe and Ryan had been out hiking around for nearly half the day. Joe started to act sick, like some kind of exhaustion and he was telling Ryan that he could not go on to much longer. Ryan was felling very frustrated that he even let Joe come with him. Ryan felt that they were just wasting time, so Ryan just said, “I have my camping location so I guess that we can go now.” They were within two hundred feet from the location Brian found. Joe was glad they were turning around and heading to the car.
They made it to the car, and started to head out of there. It was midafternoon, but Ryan did find one thing he was looking for, and that was a good camping location. They made their two hour trip back home. Ryan dropped off Joe at his house, and then headed home himself. When Joe got in the house, Brian was sitting in the kitchen, having a snack. He was very glad to be home. Joe asked how his day went. Brian just said “he could not find anyone down south to talk to” because that is where he was told to go. Joe knew where he had been, but he played along. Brian asked him where he had been since he thought that he was going to stay in bed all day from not feeling well. Joe said “I started to feel better, so I went for a hike nearby to clear my head.” They both knew that each other was lying, but they just went along with it. They both said that they were tired and were going to take an early night. So they both went to their rooms. Ryan finally made it home. He was still not happy with how the day went and that nothing seemed to go as planned.
Joe snuck down into the basement, to the Command Center, and contacted Colonel Wyatt. He was informing him how the day went, but the Colonel already knew what had transpired, and he was not happy. It was too close and Brian knows too much now, he needs to be taken care of. Joe said that he would take care of it. Brian had no idea what kind of danger he was in because of his cloak and dagger actions. After a while Joe could hear Brian snoring, so he knew that he was asleep. He quietly opened up his bedroom door, walked over to him, and just stood there. Joe’s breathing woke Brian up, and he opened up his eyes. He was startled to see Joe standing over him in the dark with just a silhouette of light coming from the hallway. The two of them just stared at each other for a few seconds, and then Joe slams one of his hands over his mouth and nose, and the other hand holding his head down. Brian was trying to fight him off. But Joe had the upper hand on him. Joe was saying “you should not have followed us out there today, you saw too much.” Brian was running out of air, since Joe was keeping him from taking a breath. After several minutes of Brian trying to fight Joe off, Brian just stopped moving. Joe held his hands over his face for a few more minutes, to make sure that he was dead. When Joe was satisfied, he walked out of his room, shut the door and headed back to the basement, to inform the Colonel.
When Joe got down to the Command Center, he contacted Colonel Wyatt and informed him that the job was done and that he needed it cleaned up. The Colonel said “there will be a clean-up crew there within the hour,” and that was the end of the conversation. The clean-up crew showed up and took care of the body and any evidence that he made. They were in and out within forty-five minutes. Joe thought to himself, one problem gone, but there was still Captain Ryan, and he was not going to be as easy as Brian was. Ryan was looking over all his papers again and trying to replot a new route, for this weekend. He had no idea what had just transpired with Joe and Brian. Ryan did not have any indication that he was on the list as well. But the “Naturals” knew that they had to do it right with Captain Ryan, because he is to public. Joe knew that Ryan did not trust him that much, so he was going to let the Colonel take care of him. Colonel Wyatt contacted Miss Black and informed her that there was still a problem and that it needed to be taken care of.
Captain Ryan received a call around 2100 hours from Captain Johnson. He told Ryan that it just was not the same without him there. The two of them had been flying together for the last year and had really gotten to know each other. Captain Johnson first name was Jeff. He told him that he saw the strange object again the other night, and it reacted the same way as it did with the two of them, that April night. But this time, Jeff told Scott that he took notes of the location that it was stationary and where it vanished to. Scott was very excited about this new evidence that had presented itself. Scott plotted the positions on the map, and they correlated with the data that he received from Joe, before Joe spilled his coffee on the map and lost the markings. Jeff asked Scott if there was anything that he could do to help him out. He said “that he had a change of mind, on this investigation.” Scott told him about the camping spot that he had found earlier that day, since that was the only good thing that came out of the disaster of a day with Joe, who seemed to want to countermine him every chance he got.
Scott asked Jeff if he was interested in going with him and Amanda this weekend, on the camping trip, to gain intelligence on the UFO sighting. “Of course” Jeff said “yes” and that made Scott happy, to know that he would have someone there that had his back. Scott told Jeff all the new facts that he had gathered up, just in a few days. The more Scott talked the more Jeff got energized about the trip this weekend. The two of them talked for a good two hours discussing all the new information that had been gathered. Scott found out that other pilots in the squadron were talking about strange sightings of weird things, which they had seen during there years of flying. The two of them were getting very animated in their conversation. They were both laughing and pumping each other up, as well as coming up with different scenarios from the Military, of possibilities for the cover-up. Jeff told Scott that he would take leave on Friday, so that they could get together that day and map things out for the weekend. They ended their call at 2300 hours. Scott just sat in his living room chair, drinking a shot of whiskey, “Jack Daniels, which was his drink of choice.” He was just relaxing for the night.
After a couple of shots, just to get a buzz, he still did not feel tired. He felt wired and ready to make another go of the day that ended up a catastrophe in his book. Scott got on his computer and did some generic searches about Military UFO cover-ups, just to read what is being posted by the conspiracy theorists. He figured that even if they were keeping an eye on his computer use, they already knew what he was looking up. He was not going to contact any other conspiracy people on his outings, because that did not turn out so well for him. He was reading the blogs and replies on different sites. In a nutshell a lot of the posts from bloggers really thought that at the top level of the military were Aliens controlling the outcome. Scott felt that there were parts of the blogs that he could not argue with, because solid points were being made. It all leads to cover-up, to keep that population in the dark about what was going on. Some of the theories were that the Aliens were secretly converting random people into hybrid human and Alien DNA spliced together, mostly to insure that the alien race flourished and the human race stayed inferior to them, in all aspects of life.
Scott started to think, whether it could be true or not, and it actually kicked off new thoughts, that maybe in a way it was true. He could already prove that there was a cover-up, so he thought “could something like that really be happening also.” He kept reading until 0100 hours in the morning. Everything he was reading could be very plausible. Scott was determined to get the truth out in the open, or at least give it all he’s got. Scott started to feel tired, so he decided to go to bed. All night he was dreaming about Aliens taking over the world! Back at Joe’s house everything was cleaned up, and there was no more Brian. Even though Joe and Brian had been friends for many years. Joe had all his memories; he did not care and was glad that Brian was gone. Joe did not require much sleep, an hour or two is all that he required now, since he was changed. His computers had been patched into Scott’s computers, and he could listen to his phone calls as well.
Joe had listened to the conversation between Scott and Jeff and all their theories about what was going on, and what they had planned for the weekend. He was also reading what Scott had read in the websites about an Alien takeover. As soon as Joe was changed into a “hybrid”, he was connected to a mind hive, and instantly knew what his job was. It was kind of like a Bee colony, where certain Bees are born just knowing what their job is. They will protect the queen with their life if needed. One thing that Joe knew is that not all humans could be turned into hybrid humans, only around 60% of the human population could be changed. According to their plans, 40% needed to be eradicated, because they posed a significant threat to the so-called queen. Scott was one of the 40%, which they wanted gone. They were two inquisitive and questioned everything, and that was coded into their DNA. It was a dominant trait that they could not take out, so they wanted that line of human evolution gone completely.
