Campout

Since all three of them had the day off, it was decided that they would meet at Scott’s house at 11:00 am, and then they would get the car loaded up and head out for the hills. They left right as planned, and were on the road by noon. The drive out there was a two hour drive, so they talked about the purpose for the trip, and, to have fun and enjoy being out there. They had the map out, and it was marked with Scott’s and Jeff’s plotted spots. They discussed that the main purpose of the trip was to gather evidence, that there is Alien activity in that area. All of them had a camera to use and Jeff and Scott also had night vision goggles with them. The three of them were prepared to find evidence. They were pumping each other up, and were getting ready for the hunt. They were all determined to find out the truth. Scott said on the drive there, “no one goes any place alone!” They were all in agreement on that rule. Scott finally got to the turn off from the main road. They were now on the long dirt wash board road. It was a very nice day outside, and it was going to be the perfect weekend, with clear night skies and not a lot of moon light was expected.             Scott drove as far as he could, to get them close to the spot he found for camping. They got out of the car and the temperature was 78 degrees; which was perfect for hiking around. They loaded up all the gear that they could carry in one trip. There was not far to go, to get to the site. As soon as they got to the site, Jeff said “perfect spot.” Both Scott and Amanda agreed with his statement. The spot picked out was flat and, relatively not a lot of rocks that they would have to sleep on. There were big rocks around to make a fire pit. It did not have any shade, but Scott brought his canopy to set up as well. They had to make two trips from the car to get all the gear to the camp site. But it was only about a 15 minute walk from the car. The first thing that they did was set up their tents and then the canopy. They gathered big rocks to make a fire pit. Scott did bring fire logs with him, and since he did not know what kindling would be available, he was prepared. They had all their food in coolers, and tote bags. The location they were in had not reported a lot of wild life around it. So they were good to go hike around when they were ready, without animals digging through all their food.             It was past lunch and they were all getting pretty hungry. Amanda pulled out the sandwich meat, and made them all sandwiches with chips. That would hold them over for a while. Jeff pulled out the map, and plotted directions to where they should hike first. They were not far from one of the sighting spots. The plan was made. They loaded up their day packs, with snacks and water, and any equipment they thought that they might need. Off they went on their way. There were lots of hills and curvy trails to follow. Scott hiked to the top of one of the big hills, while Jeff and Amanda waited at the bottom. He was just taking a look from a high advantage point. Scott came back down and said “there are some promising locations two hills over” so off they went. They found a trail which led around the big hills instead of over them. As a bird fly’s, the spots were just right there, but they had to take the long way walking around the hills route. After about 45 minutes of hiking and keeping track of where they were on the map, they made it to a strange spot.             The spot that they found was the spot that Joe had been trying to keep Scott from finding. The location was weird to all of them, no vegetation, somewhat smooth dirt, and no insect noises. Jeff pulled out his compass and it did not seem to work right there. It was just spinning, like they were in a vortex of magnetic energy. The GPS and their phones did not work there either. Scott was very excited that this was a big clue. He had lots of questions about this area. The area was approximately 200 feet by 300 feet. They followed the path of the line where vegetation and no vegetation matched up. They followed the entire area. It took them a little while, since they had to go over hills and around them to track the whole thing. The compass was odd at the line they were following, on the vegetation side, it pointed to the inside of the cleared vegetation. On the inside it just spun around. They all thought that this was an important area, and they planned to be back there after dark.             Being good with maps, was because of their military training, they marked the outline of the strange area onto the map. They also had their campsite on it as well. It was getting late in the afternoon, and they had gone through most of their water. So they decided to head back to camp, to take a break and refill their go bags, so that they would be ready for their night time hike. Jeff put a fire log into the fire pit and lit it. Dinner was going to be started. As they were just sitting around the fire pit. They had no idea that Joe had been following them around the hills, all afternoon. He had his campsite a quarter mile on the other side of the strange barrier. Joe had followed them back to their campsite. He was up on a hilltop with his binoculars, keeping an eye on the three of them. Amanda pulled out the steaks that she brought for dinner that night, and they started to cook them as well as potatoes with onions and a salad. They thought that they were eating like kings that night. As they sat around the fire eating their food, they all thought about how perfect it was right at that moment. Everything seemed so calm and peaceful, how could anything go wrong with this night.             They finished their food and cleaned up all the aftermath of making dinner. With all of them helping, it only took a few minutes. It was barley dusk. They were waiting for it to get a bit darker, so that they could see the stars. They sat under the canopy enjoying a refreshing beverage, waiting for darkness to fall. They played a card game to pass the time. They didn’t get too involved in the game since they were going to be leaving the area to hike around very soon. After about thirty minutes, they started to see stars. So they decided to pack up the game for later and put together their go bags with equipment and water. As soon as they were finished putting their stuff together, it was dark enough to head out to the hills. They had head lamps on their heads, and extra flashlights with them as well. They were very prepared for their nighttime adventure. With their headlamps on, it was easy for Joe to follow them. That night he only had plans on keeping an eye on them. He was not going to engage with them yet.             Joe knew the area that they were heading towards. He had some kind of communication device with him, and he was in contact with someone; which they had to be close by. Scott and his partners finally got to the mysterious spot. They checked the compass again and got the same results. They also found that there watches stopped working inside the perimeter of this area. They all had easy fold and carry camping chairs that they had with them. The decision was made on a location to stop and just sit. So they were sitting inside the perimeter with their lights off, so that they could see any strange lights in the sky. As they were waiting and staring up at the sky, Jeff said, “look over there, you can see a satellite passing by.” They all followed it across the sky, and wondered what was out there. The night got later and later, with no sighting. When all the sudden, they all heard a loud humming that seemed to be coming from right above them. All three of them started to look around, but they could not see anything. The humming just kept on getting louder, it started to scare them, since they had no idea what was making the noise.             All of them just stopped and calmed down, and when they looked straight up in the sky, they saw a large triangle shaped object, with bright lights spiraling around it. It hovered for about ten seconds, and then just faded out of sight. They were all energized and excited to what they had just seen, but very baffled because it just disappeared from sight and then was gone; and the humming was gone as well. Scott then said “did anyone pull out there camera and take a picture?” Not one of them thought at that moment to take a picture, so they were left with no proof that they saw anything. They were all just so excited and also a little scared, so their minds went blank. They stayed around that area for a while, just in case it decided to come back, but it was gone without a trace. Scott said “well let’s just head back to camp.” Again the entire time during the sighting, Joe was watching them, and he was still up to something. Joe set up an observation point to watch them all night. He stayed close by.             Amanda said “she was tired” so they all followed suit and got into their tents. It was late and they were all tired, so they all went to sleep very fast. Scott did not stay asleep very long; as he was a very light sleeper. The slightest noise would wake him up. The time was 3:00 am and he was just lying there in his sleeping bag, when he heard the zipper from one of the other tents open up. He could tell that whoever it was was doing a good job at trying to keep it very quiet. Scott would not have even heard it if he had not already been awake. He peeked out the window flap, and noticed it was Amanda. He watched her sneak out of her tent and start heading up the hill. He watched her until she disappeared when she crested the top of the hill. He was very curious to what she was doing, because they all agreed to the rule, “no one goes anyplace alone.” She had gone too far to just use the bathroom. Scott waited just a minute to see if she would start coming back, but she never did.             Scott quietly got out of his tent, making sure he did not wake Jeff. He put on his night vision goggles, so that he would not be seen if she started to head back down the hill. He got to the top of the hill that he saw her hike up, and saw her light on the next hill over. It looked like she was heading back to the strange vortex area, that they had their encounter. Scott kept heading that direction, in a roundabout way, so that he would not be seen. He finally got around a hill that gave him a view of the vortex area, and there was lots of light over there. He saw two people standing in the light. Scott had a pocket scope with him; which he pulled out, and looked out at the two people in the bright light. Scott recognized both people. The two individuals in the light were Amanda and Joe. Scott was completely blown away, to what he was witnessing. He first saw two people that should really not know each other, and then he saw light coming from the ground, as if it were opened up, like a drawbridge.             He crawled closer to the light, making sure not to make an appearance in the ambiance of the light, so he could hear the two individuals talking. They were saying that Scott or Jeff needed to have some kind of accident, this weekend. They had both seen too much, and they were a vulnerability to them. Amanda and Joe went their separate ways. As soon as they were out of sight. Scott got up and ran to the light, hoping to see what is inside the area under the hill. He was able to get close enough to get a quick look inside. It was a huge hanger with a very large triangular craft inside. He only saw inside for a few minutes, and then it shut. As soon as it shut, he found a bunch of rocks. He piled them up right at the corner of the opening of the drawbridge, which led inside the hill. As soon as he marked the location, he had to get back to camp, just in case anyone noticed that he was gone, since he made the rule, “no one goes anyplace alone.”             Scott made it back to camp at approximately 4:20 am. He quietly snuck back to his tent and unzipped it. As soon as he unzipped it, he made sure to make some noise, like he was getting up to relieve himself. He walked over to one side of the campsite and relived himself, and then he went back to his tent. He thought that doing this; no one would be suspicious as to why he was up this early. He crawled back into his sleeping bag and just laid there, contemplating what he needed to do, the rest of the weekend. He now knew that Joe was around and that he could not trust Amanda. The only one that he could confide in was Jeff. But he was not sure how he was going to get Jeff alone without Amanda becoming suspicious. He knew that he had to think long and hard about this. Now he realized that meeting her at the library was all a set up. I am being followed everyplace I go. Scott began to have a small panic attack in his tent, but he knew that he needed to get it under control, because this had become a serious situation.             Scott had a hard time falling back to sleep after what he heard Amanda and Joe saying to each other. He finally fell back to sleep for a couple of hours, and when he did get up; he was still the first one out of the tents. So he started a fire, and got the coffee ready, so when the others got up, it would be ready. He waited on breakfast, until around 8:30 am. Because everybody was up then. Amanda told Scott and Jeff “she needed to go behind a hill for a minute.” As soon as she was out of earshot, Scott quickly confided in Jeff and told him about what happened last night. Jeff was in shock. He thought that she was a really nice person, and not the kind of person to cause accidents for others. They saw her coming back. They said “they will talk later.” When she got back, they made breakfast and ate it around the fire, since mornings were still cold. They talked with each other about what they wanted to accomplish today, knowing what the objective of the trip was.                                                When it got a little warmer and the sun was higher in the sky, they were going to do more hiking, to see if they could find other locations, like the spot already found. They waited until 11:00 am before leaving, since they had all day. They grabbed their go bags and map, and then left the campsite. This time they were going to go further out past the first site that they sat at the night before. Joe was close behind them. It seemed like he was in contact with Amanda somehow. Scott just kept looking around to see if there was any danger in the areas ahead of them. There were high hills, which had some kind of drop-off, onto large rocks. They started out at the bottom of the ravines and throughout the day ended out on top of the hills. They stopped at the top of one of the large hills, and had lunch, since they brought it with them, so they could stay out longer. While they were sitting on the ground at the top of one of the hills, they heard gun shots, nearby, and then one of the shots, got close and hit a large rock five feet away from where they were sitting.             As soon as that happened, they got very concerned, that they were being tracked. Scott and Jeff’s heart were racing, but Amanda seemed a little bit to calm. Neither of them said anything about it to her. They were in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone service. Scott said “let’s head back to camp, and gather our thoughts.” Scott and Jeff did have guns with them, just in case they needed to protect themselves. On their way back down, there was another gunshot that rang out. They all stopped for a moment, and then they looked at each other. Scott immediately saw that Jeff was hit in the chest, and that he was on his knees. Scott and Amanda run over to Jeff, as he fell on his back. Jeff started to choke on his own blood. Scott started first aid on Jeff, but the bullet had hit a main artery and part of his heart. He was bleeding out fast, and there was nothing that Scott or Amanda could do about it. Jeff faded out and then the bleeding stopped, because his heart was no longer pumping. Scott was kneeling next to his friend, with blood all over his hands and clothes.             They were at least a couple of hours away from camp and his friend just died, because of something that he started. That is how Scott felt, right at that moment. Amanda said “let’s get out of here and go back to camp.” On the trek back to camp it was just Scott and Amanda; because they had to leave Jeff where he was. They did mark it on the map, so as soon as they got cell service, they would call for help. Scott decided that they were not going to camp, that they were going straight to the car and driving until they got cell service. When they got to the car, Scott just stood there looking at it. The tires were all slashed, windows broken, hood open and a bullet shot into the engine. He looked at Amanda and said “what do we do now?” She said “let’s go back to camp.” On the way to their campsite, Amanda says “she has a satellite phone in her tent, for emergencies.” Scott was mad and said “why the hell did you not say anything?” She said “she got scared and forgot.” They got back to camp, and the camp had been ransacked, but her phone was still there.             While Scott and Amanda were trying to decide what to do, Jeff’s body was being moved by “Hybrids” that the “Naturals” sent out. Thy wanted his body brought back to the underground compound, so that they could do an experiment on his body. The “Naturals” wanted to see if they replaced his heart after he had died, could they bring him back to life. His heart was taken out and an Alien created heart was put into his chest. He was then put into an oxygenated water compound tank and he soaked in it for the next week. After they pulled him out of the water compound, they removed one of his eyes, and did the same thing. They put in an Alien created eye in its place. Both of the experiments were as success in the end.               She grabbed her phone and called emergence services, to their area. It took them a little while to get there, and as soon as the police and paramedics got to the campsite, they gave a report as to what had happened. They gave the location on the map, and a helicopter was called in to the spot that they were shot at, and Jeff was killed. The two of them just waited at the campsite with the police, until they heard from the helicopter. After a little bit of time had passed, there was a call on the radio, and they said that the area they were sent to, had no body there. They said they searched around, and found some blood on the ground, but that it could be from an animal, because there was a dead animal in that area that looked very fresh. Scott was in shock, he knew that he gave them the correct location on the map. The police told him that if they needed a ride back home, they could arrange that for them. Scott didn’t know what else to do, but leave his car there, and get a ride back home.             Scott and Amanda packed up all the gear they could, and loaded it into the back of the police ranger. They got into the car, and the police officer started to head to his home. It was going to be a few hours before they got to his home. The policeman just kept asking them both questions, about what really happened. The policeman noticed that the camp was set up for three people, and for some reason, since there was no body found, he did not believe their story. He asked them if it was okay if they went to the police station, just to make an official report. Scott had a feeling that this was not going to end well. He could tell that the police officer was not believing the story they were telling. The policeman pulled into the underground area of the police station, and then they all got out of the car, and went straight to processing, for questioning. They were put into separate rooms and asked questions about what was really going on. The police were thinking that there might be some kind of foul play involved.             Scott was in an interrogation room for what seemed like hours. When they were done with Scott, they took him out to a waiting room, where Amanda was waiting. They arranged for rides for both of them, then told them that they may have more questions, so do not leave town. Scott felt like this was just a nightmare, and it was his fault. He finally got home, and when he walked into his house, he noticed that someone had been in his house. The door was unlocked. He could not tell right at the moment if anything had been taken, but he knew someone had been there. Then he noticed that his safe was open and all the documents were gone, that is all that was taken. He was very shook up about the entire thing. He knew that Amanda and Joe were involved in the events that led to his friend’s death. He did not feel safe in his own home that night. He kept his loaded gun right next to him the entire night. Even though he did not sleep, he just stayed in bed all night, thinking about how he got his friend killed. That was all that was going through his head throughout the entire night.             Come morning, he decided that he was on his own from here on out. He was not going to trust anyone. He rented a car and was headed back out to the west desert; but he also called a tow truck to bring his car back to town. He just could not believe that the body of his friend was not there, when the men searched the area. When Scott got to the parking spot of his car, he only waited for a short time before the tow truck showed up. The driver hooked up the car and pulled it onto the flatbed truck. As soon as it was loaded, he was off to drop it off to the dealership, to see if it was salvageable. Scott did not leave with the tow truck. He stayed and decided to hike out to the location that his friend was shot. He finally got there after a couple of hours, and all he found was some blood on the grass, where he died. He searched around the area for a while, but found nothing, but a dead animal, that had been mutilated by something. Scott thought that what he found was strange, since mutilated animals, having been associated with alien experiments. So the question remains, “where is Jeff’s body?”             Scott hiked back down, but he went the way of crossing through the first sighting location they found. He knew that this area was key to finding out where Jeff’s body was. He found the rocks that he stacked up that night when he saw Amanda and Joe talking. He did not find any opening, where the seam would have been. He sat down and was just alone with his thoughts. He was thinking about what type of accident that the two of them were discussing, and if so, is he next. He felt that he had to keep looking over his shoulders, like a very paranoid individual. He sat on the ground for around an hour and nothing seemed to happen in the vortex area. So Scott headed back to the car, to head back home. He got a call from the police asking him to come back to the police station, for more questions. He told them where he was right at that moment, and that it would be a couple of hours before he could get there. They just told him to get there when he could. He was going to tell them about Joe and Amanda.             After his two hour drive, he made it to the police station where he was taken to an interrogation room. The police still felt that something fishy was going on, and that foul play was involved; especially since they could not locate Jeff or his body. Scott told the detective about what he encountered that night up in the hills. He told him what he saw and heard between Joe and Amanda. This was the same detective that was also investigating the murder of Brian. He quickly put two and two together and realized that this was the same Joe, who was the roommate of Brian. The detective’s name was Jason Smith. He felt that this entire story was bigger than he originally thought. Since there were now, possibly two murders, with one person involved with both of them. The detective finished up his questions with Scott, and then let him leave. Detective Smith opened up the file for Brian, and put the two files together, he opened up the file jacket and got Joe’s number and then tried to call him, to come in for questioning.             The calls to Joe did not add up to anything. Since he did not answer the phone, Detective Smith drove over to Joe’s house to see if he was there. No one was home, so he put Joe’s house on surveillance, by an undercover team. The detective decided to go to Amanda’s home. He first tried to call her, but again no answer. When he showed up at her door, he knocked, and the door opened. He looked inside and the apartment was empty. The apartment had also been cleaned. Whoever this was, knew what they were doing. He got the impression that Scott could possibly be caught up in something big, and he could really be in danger. But he had the gut feeling that Scott was telling the truth about the events that took place. The detective called Scott and filled him in on the investigation. He told Scott about Amanda’s home and how it was totally empty. Scott could not believe that he was caught up in this conspiracy. The detective told him to be careful, because he could be in a lot of danger.
