CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR The hospital was spotless. Justin glanced towards Trudy. “See,” he said. “It’s fine.” She sort of nodded. Kind of acknowledged he’d been right. It was without doubt a very clean little hospital, but it was busy. There were staff everywhere, their seniority apparently determined by a variety of coloured tunics. The sick and needy were certainly not neglected in the care department. And just in case, each and every patient seemed to have at least five family members in tow, mostly female. Justin and Trudy sat and waited opposite two family groups, some of whom were wailing in grief. Justin amused himself trying to decide whether their anguish was real or imagined.
