Lusi sat on the floor of the messy living room as she seriously sealed back the pieces of the scholarship paper with tape. Her mother and brother sat at the other end eating the last roasted corn left in the house before going to bed. “Here are some more”. Mrs Adams said feeding Willy the corn again but he took his head away and she frowned. “What's the matter?”. Mrs Adams asked him. “Big sis hasn't eaten— “Whose big sis?! Didn't I tell you you're not below her?! She's mute Willy. When will you get superior to her?! If you're not going to continue eating then fine!! Go away!”. Mrs Adams snapped pushing Willy off her lap from the one seater chair they sat on and he fell to the ground, but through the help of his stick he soon got up and began moving towards where Lusi sat on the ground, engrossed with her tapping. “Did I tell you to go to the witch?!! Do you also want to go dumb?!”. Mrs Adams sneered, getting up from her seat and instantly rushing to Willy then she shoved him in the direction of his room before he got to Lusi and that was when Lusi looked up at them. “Where's the witch?!!! Cynthia brings her out, let me kill her and sleep peacefully tonight!!”. Mr Adams shouted loudly from outside and without a second thought, Mrs Adams carried Willy up, took the remaining corn and ran into the room and locked both she and Willy in there. Lus also stood up in alarm, pocketing her form and the tape in her run out jean gown, she ran towards the kitchen to use the back door but surprisingly it was locked and that was when her father finally broke into the living room, looking all dirty and his voice cracking at every shout he produces. “You b*tch!!! You think I don't know you'll run through the kitchen?!! I locked it from outside!”. Mr Adams grinned as he approached the kitchen, his dirty hand wrapped around a broken bottle, and Lusi's eyes widened as she stood in the kitchen like a cornered mouth looking around and thinking of what to do to escape the chaos ahead then luckily her eyes caught her father's low budget iron kitchen stool and instantly she ran to it, picked it and after hitting it hard with the wooden door it broke and there she ran out of the house, running into the streets to save her dear life. “Come back here you witch!!!! No--no don't come back here, ever! Or I'll kill you and you right in this same kitchen you destroyed!!!”. Mr Adams shouted loudly as he stood at the wrecked kitchen door entrance glaring after Lusi's now fading running figure. (NICOLE'S ROOM) “Nothing too special here”. Nicole muttered in distaste as he talked through his ear pod, then he walked to a glass window that could also pass as a door and opened it wide. “C,Mon! I made sure my dad picked the best area in Dolcen for your family. What do you mean by it isn't special?! Do you know it's close to school also?!”. A friend of his Daniel said through the pod and he scoffed as he glared out the window, the fresh hair hitting his face. “Is there any playground around here?!”. Nicole asked. “No, but I know of a nearby club though— “Playground Daniel! I just need a place to stroll around, away from this dungeon of a house”. Nicole interrupted walking into his wardrobe room and coming out changed in a blue hoodie and black shorts, and Daniel sighed. “I'll send you the location then. Take care”. Daniel hung up and instantly Nicole picked up his phone from the bed while he threw the earpod to the bed, then he walked out of his room. “Young Master the Chairman has some visitors he wants you to meet— “Not interested”. Nicole cut Lady Moraine off as he walked out while she glared after him. “What should we do now? The chairman really wants to introduce him to the head board member”. Morain's assistance said and Moraine faced her with a smirk before walking into the second hallway and knocking on the first door she met there, but without waiting to be allowed in she walked in and smiled at the occupant. “Amanda how has settling in been for you?”. Lady Moraine asked with a smile walking to assist Amanda who was brushing her hair and already in her nightie to go to bed, but then Amanda didn't reply to her. “You know, as a lady you have many responsibilities, otherwise you will be tossed to the side by your husband in the future”. Moraine said as she began helping Amanda packing her hair in a tight neat bun, leaving the girl confused. “I'm just going to bed— “No you're not. Your father has some visitors and without being told what to you should have gone to greet them already, three of them have promising heirs and it won't be bad if I set up with one of them— “They're all older than me, and this is the 21st century, my life won't end if I don't get married– “Shut up! Don't talk while I speak! I'm telling you to get up, get dressed and go meet your father in the study! Then we'll think of which amongst the visitors to be your father-in-law— “Moraine you're not my mother! I don't understand why you have to decide for me, I'm eighteen!--- Amanda was cut off by the right slap Moraine gave to her on her face and instantly she lost balance and fell to the ground then she looked up at Moraine with widened eyes. “You-you just slapped me”. Amanda muttered her eyes were now glassy. Moraine rolled eyes at her checking her nails, but soon they began hearing footsteps approaching from outside and Amanda instantly stood up to her feet, but right when whoever was approaching was about walking into the room, Moraine fell to the ground and began crying shockingly, then the head maid Dona in her late forties walked in. “I know I'm just a lowly secretary who leeches off your family but you slapping me is out of it! You even accused me of trying to replace your mother?! Why?!!”. Moraine cried bitterly on the floor and soon fake tears began pouring down her eyes., while Amanda stared at her with widened eyes..
