Chapter 14 NORA I told Daniel I had a dentist appointment, then errands after, wedding thank you cards to order, the kind of small dull tasks a new wife handles without her husband needing to think twice about them. He barely looked up from his laptop when I mentioned it, already deep in something on his screen, already half gone into whatever world he lived in when he wasn't performing for me. "Take the car," he said. "I'll have Marcus swing by for lunch." I kept my face easy. "Sounds good."
