Rachel Three months later Evan clasped my hand as we waited for the lawyer to read the will. Magnus had no other family, so it was only a small group of loyal family employees and us. Magnus had directed that the will be read three months after his passing, another oddball request, but the attorney had followed his wishes. As the smaller bequests were read aloud, Evan reached over to rub my growing belly several times. It pulled him like a moth to a flame. He was always finding some small way to touch me—hold my hand, rub my feet, rest his fingertips at my spine, or place his palm against my belly.
