Hunter or Hunted??

First Day of Training

I woke up early, even though I had stayed up pretty late the night before, to make sure I was ready for the day and so I could get to the garden behind the castle in time to talk to Rayne before training began.

Everything that had unfolded in the last few days had me ready to get this mystery solved already but I knew I would have to be patient. Even though Mama had her talk with me and I got to help her gain some trust with Thorn and Thistle, I was still extremely nervous and wanted to hear what Rayne had to say. It was great getting to know Peg and I'm glad that Mama trusted me with the knowledge of her existence, now we would have to work her into the family slowly but surely. I loved her very much already as a sister and didn't want her to be left alone in that dark and lonely place under the castle walls.

Last night made me wonder what's going through Mama's mind though because it almost seemed like she was testing me. She had never spoke to me so freely about magic and our future as a family.
