Diana on the other hand got emotional as tears dropped down her cheeks. She laid back down, as she flashed back to the encounter she had with the stranger she had met earlier. Her mind began to wonder.
“ Josh! What a cute name for a handsome man.” She muttered, her cheeks all red as she blushed.
But she came back to her senses,as soon as she heard her husband’s voice, which turned out to be a phone call. “Who could he be speaking with by this time of the night?” She wondered.
The next morning, Diana had just finished dressing, as she was going to visit her parents. Julian had left for work.
She got to her family house, her mother Catherine, had just finished setting the table expecting her daughter. Mom! She called out as they exchanged a hug.
“My darling, how're you doing?” Catherine asked her, her face so bright with a smile.
“ I'm okay mom. How about daddy, is he not home? She inquired.
“He left for a business trip this morning.”
She answered
They chatted for a while and Diana told her mom everything that has been happening with Julian. And how she feels completely invisible to him.
“ Every marriage has its ups and downs, my dear, it's not always a bed of roses, with time you'll understand.” Her mother said, with a warm smile.
“Mom, how do you expect me to understand a man who has had a thing with his secretary even before our marriage, how do you expect me to feel, knowing fully well that my husband is cheating on me with his secretary, and it doesn't even matter to him?” She asked, her voice trembling.
“I don't think I can do this anymore. I am tired.”
Her mother patted her on the back. “ Don't say such a thing. Take things easy my dear, and try talking things out with him.”
They spent time talking about family and other things. Later in the afternoon, Diana went back home.
As the only child of a wealthy family, Diana graduated from college of arts and crafts before her marriage with Julian.
One morning, she stood in front of the mirror, tired of everything she had been passing through in her marriage. She stared at her reflection. She saw a spark of determination.
She thought of all the times she had let Julian's behaviour define her, all the times she had let him make her feel so small and insignificant. She took a deep breath and vowed to herself never to let anyone's opinion define who she truly is and focus on her life.
With a newfound resolution, Diana began to make plans. She enrolled in a private art class, something she had always been so passionate about but the timing wasn't right.
Diana started her classes, where she met a warm and welcoming woman named Mrs Claire Donald. She is the director and instructor at the art class. It's a small art studio not far from their house, she chose to enroll there, so she can easily get home without any suspicions from her husband, because her enrollment to the class was a secret she kept to herself. Director Claire showed Diana around the art studio, and they started their first class.
Diana felt a sense of belonging as she began to work on her first project.
Six months passed by, and Diana was almost done with her classes.
An offer came to Sarah to help launch an art gallery for a new foreign company.
Director Claire accepted the offer, but due to too much work load, she asked Diana to go in her stead.
Diana got to the company to discuss things about the process. As she got there, she met the manager.
“Hi, I'm Diana Gibson! I'm here to represent Miss Claire Donald, the art director.
“Oh, yes, welcome.” The manager said, and directed Diana to the meeting room, where she will meet with the CEO of the company, to talk about the project.
"okay, thank you very much," Diana replied and headed towards the direction the manager was pointing at, without any hesitation.
Although she was curious at first, on getting to the company she let go of her curiosity and focused on the reason why she was there.
She got to the meeting room and quietly sat down, waiting for the CEO.
