The quiet ceremony was held in the chapel of St. Xavier’s with Wesley giving me to Lillian and Lillian’s father giving her to me. We’d written our own ceremony so the question would be “Who stands beside this woman in support as she enters into this marriage?”
We’d written our vows, too. Mine were: “I vow to love you and everything that you embrace that makes you who you are. I will support and be with you through all of your life, through good or bad, happiness or sadness. I will hold onto your hand through stillness and turmoil. I promise to share myself only with you and to walk beside you through rain or sunshine. I vow that all that I am will be yours.”
