Escaping Hell

It was a hard hit as the councilor fell on the floor, unconscious. Phoebe’s arm hurts a lot as she holds it with her hands, dropping the heavy shovel that she got from the shed. Anna looks at her, confused, shocked, but above all, she was thankful. She looked at the councilor who is knocked out on the floor as she looks at the girl who saved her from her future trauma and the worst memory she will ever experience. Phoebe looks back at her too as she snapped back to what she was aiming for, the reason that she came here. She helped Anna to stand and hop out of this king-sized bed. “Come on, let’s get out of here.” She said as she opens the big bedroom door and peeks at it. Her eyes widen in shock as she closes it. Anna looks at her confused, “What’s the matter?” “Guards.” She briefly said as she looks around and saw the shovel she carried the whole way through here. She grabbed it and approached the door again and locks it by suspending it on the two handles of the door. She pulled Anna and looked out at the window just above the headboard of the bed as she looks around again. She noticed the closet that was just beside the bed, meters away from it. “Clothes. Come on, Anna, clothes.” She said as they jumped out of the bed as opened the big closet that the councilor has. “We are gonna tie them together to make a rope.” She said as she started pulling out clothes in bulk as Anna nods and starts to tie up the clothes together. Phoebe’s heartbeat jumps as the door started to make noises and move, the guards are getting their way in. She helped Anna with tying the clothes as she even threw the other end already in the window while the other keeps tying everything. “That’s enough, we can go down safely now.” She said as she grabs the other end and tied it up as the pillar of the headboard tightly. “You go first, I’ll fight them back,” Phoebe said as she assisted Anna towards the cloth rope that they made as she slowly climbs her way down the master bedroom. Phoebe looks at the door as she grabs the shovel just seconds away from that the guards threw a nearby table on the door. As the table breaks and opens the door, Phoebe waited at the side of the door as she quickly slaps the blade of the shovel on one of the guards' chest area that made him back away and caused some big impact on him. It made Phoebe a lot tired quickly with just one swing. But she knows she needs to do another one as a guard was approaching her. She raised the shovel again and she hits the guard with the side of the shovel on the neck. The next thing she saw was truly horrifying. She decided to leave the two guards the attacked her and hopped on the bed. She climbs up at the window as she grabs the cloth rope they created and started to climb down. She can see in the distance the guards getting alerted as she quickly brought herself down. She landed beside Anna who is just standing, waiting for her. “Quick!” She said as she pulls her away and down the elevated region, they landed upon as the guards started to approach them in a different direction. The two kept running for their lives, trying to just outrun everyone that is trying to stop them. As they set their feet on the grounds of the mansion, Phoebe looks around as every guard was alerted as she was hesitant to approach them and just try to swoop in their small heights. They have swords, they have none. Phoebe was forced to take the back gate of this mansion. “Lead me to the back of this mansion, quick.” She said to Anna as she nods and ran inside with her. While they were running and traversing the halls of this mansion, the guards are really eager to find these girls. The servants were shocked by them just running around and the guards trying to find them. “Where are those two girls!? One seemingly a noble and the servant here?” One of the guards asked a servant who is split up on helping the girls or saving his own life. He sighs and points at the right, with his skinny and pale right arm shaking in fear. His eyes were shut as he waits for the guard to slice his head with his sword but they followed where he is pointing at. He looks at them as he grabs a lady that was just beside him and hugged and kisses her forehead shivering in total fear. His eyes teared up as well as the woman in his embrace. “Why did you betrayed Anna?” His wife asked as he shakes his head, “No… They were just fools, I thought you will witness the end of me. I… There’s a god, after all, there’s one, he’s with us, our goals and dreams.” He said as he hugs her tightly and just cried on her shoulder. Meanwhile, the girls are still traversing the mansion and changing routes every time they will encounter groups of guards that are currently finding them. It was a big mansion and there’s a lot of ways to get to the back of it. “Kitchen,” Anna muttered just as they were hiding behind a fancy piece of furniture in the big open living room of the mansion. Phoebe looks at her as she peeks, the guards that almost discovered them are now gone. “Lead me to it.” Anna nods as she holds her hand and drags her out of this mess of a living room. Phoebe with unused firewood on her right hand to smack some guards on their neck or even chest if she can work her way through that armor chest piece. They travel the halls again with several witnesses from the servants, but Anna knew that they will not betray her or the others. They stopped as they saw guards that were crossing an intersection of rooms as they hid behind the wall again. They take a breathe quietly as Anna peeks from where they are hiding. The guards are standing still until they heard a rough masculine voice. “Let’s split up! This whole big group thing is useless, the guard leader of this mansion never thinks quite right.” He said as they all agreed, “Alissander and Drummond, you could go there. Antony and Magnus, go left. Tupper and Derain, go search these rooms. I and Alrick will search this hall. Move!” He said as the sounds of heavy footsteps continue again as Anna looks at Phoebe, “What will we do now?” She said as Phoebe looks around. She looks at the room behind her, it was another guest room. She looks around once more as she finds the giant vases just sitting on the halls. “Go in this room, quick.” She said as Anna enters the guest room as she runs to the vases and brings them upon the room. She left the door a little bit open as Anna was about to close it. “No, let it open.” She said as she places the vase down the table and pulls a tall chair stool. “Why?” Anna asked as Phoebe positioned the chair just in front of the opened door. “Give me the vases, one by one. Her companion was confused but just shrugged and hands her the porcelain vases. She sets it up at the top of the door as she went down as they finished. She carried the chair stool as she nudged and points the other one with her lips. “Get the other one, we don’t have proper defenses right now, quick before they arrive.” She whispered as Anna rushes to get the wooden chair stool. Even she was weak, adrenaline has powered her body this whole time of just running and a sudden workout. They stand just beside the door, waiting for the guards to take their bait. The metallic and heavy footstep is getting louder and louder every second. Phoebe glances at Anna briefly as the latter takes a deep breath and exhaled quietly. “Look, the door is left open. Strange.” One of the guards said the other one notices it as well. “Oh, they were greatly mistaken if they hid here.” He smirked as they drew their sword and approached the room. Phoebe sighs quietly, she wishes that this will not be a great mistake, that she didn’t miscalculate and sorely mistaken. If it will be, the two of them will be doomed. As one of them pushed the door and moved forward, luck was in their side, the vases flipped forward and drop on one of the guards. The vase has some soil on it, which contributes to the added weight to the guard. He was sorely mistaken that he took out that helmet earlier. He fell down the floor with the broken vase around him and on him. There are some soil and pebbles that were resting on the place or on him too. “Tupper!” The other guard screamed as he shakes his companion to wake up. He decided to pull him out of the room. As he was away from the room, Phoebe peeks as she nods at Anna then they left the wooden chairs in the room as they went out of there quietly. But it was not quiet enough as the other shouted, “You!” They were frozen up for a bit but it didn’t last as Phoebe grabs Anna’s hand and started running for their lives, literally in this situation they are in. “Where’s the kitchen?” She asked as she let Anna took the lead and they ran in a different direction. Minutes of running and just ignoring every body pain and tiredness that they are feeling, they arrived at the busy kitchen as Phoebe grabbed a knife if she needs it later, but she hopes she doesn’t. The servants helped them out as they locked the door for a while and escorted them out of this hot room. They went out as they finally have their chance to go out here. She saw a vacant horse as she pulls Anna there and climbs up it and assisted the girl to ride on it. The guards are approaching as Phoebe made the horse move quickly before they even got a chance to stop them from escaping. The people in the kitchen went out with knives, pans, and other utensils that they can use to fight off the guards. Some of them even got a machete. “Go on, you two! Anna, tell the king this for us!” One of them said as Anna nods. They started to move and ran away from the mansion as others were left and tried to execute all of the guards. A lot of people's bodies from both parties drop dead on the ground. The other guards were prioritizing the two as they ran to the front of the mansion and rode their horses and wagons. “Anna! Hold on! This horse is gonna move faster every second.” Phoebe said as they traverse the land filled with trees of Opdhal away from this monstrosity. Anna wraps her arms around her waist as she leans her weary head on her back. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you bring justice to your family and the others who were with you in that hell.” She assured her as she keeps looking back to see if they were followed by the guards of the councilor. Well, they do. Phoebe keeps her eyes on the road as she followed the path towards the bridge to cross to Enoch. An idea popped out of her head as she traversed to the river side of this region. “On the count of 3, we will jump!” “What!?” Phoebe ignored her as she started counting, “1!” “But-” “2” “Are you getting insane!?” “3!”
