Katherine
(POV)
"What's your name, gorgeous?" I heard Ethan's voice say as I kept trying to walk faster, but he was keeping up. I glanced to my side where Ethan was and continued walking towards my class. "That's none of your business. I have no interest in you, so please find someone else to flirt with." I said with a frown, not bothering to look at him again. "I'm just trying to be your friend here," he said with one of his iconic smiles that would have any normal girl fawn over him. Good thing I'm not a normal girl. "I've got enough friends and I'm not interested in finding any new friends. Plus, I don't even like you."
"Ouch, that was harsh. I can clearly see you don't like me, but I don't remember doing anything to you that would make you dislike me. If you give me a chance, I can show you things that would make you love me," he said to me in a suggestive manner.
"I'm not like the other girls, I have no interest in you. I don't care how attractive you think you are, you’re shallow."
"Wow! Feisty aren't we? Don't judge a book by its cover, sweetheart. There's more to me than looks."
"I'm sure there is. And I'm sure most girls at school know you in a very...intimate way."
"You could also be one of them," he said as he reached to brush his fingers over my cheek. I stopped and glared at him. "I'm not interested, go take your offer to someone else," I walked into the crowd and rushed into my classroom, leaving him behind.
I'm feeling really annoyed right now. I can't believe he seems to think I'm going to fall all over him just because he's talking to me. I opened my book and tried my best to forget the incident as I hoped he would let it go and not talk to me again. All day I kept hearing talks about Ethan and it was making me more annoyed than I already was. I don't care how popular he is, how handsome, tall or great body he has, I'm not going to let him play with me like he's done to all those girls who willingly walk up to him.
Ethan
(POV)
I'm left baffled. I have no idea what the hell just happened. This girl is going to be more of a challenge than I thought. "Good job, Ethan. You're zero steps closer to that girl. Ready to give up?" Kevin said as he laughed. He definitely saw what happened. "Hell no, I'm not going to stop now. No one rejects me, not even a girl like her. I'll make her beg for me. You'll see." I said, feeling my blood boiling. She's given me a challenge and I don't back away from a challenge. I'll chase her until she's completely fallen and then I'll walk away and have her beg me to stay with her. I'll make her pay for this embarrassment, she will retreat this. "She'll be the one chasing after me, you'll see." I said with a malicious smirk that caused Kevin to laugh. "Poor girl, she has no idea what she's done to you." Kevin patted my back and we went to our class.
Class felt eternal, my mind kept going back to that girl. “Just who does she think she is? She clearly doesn’t know who rules in this school.” I said in my mind as I started to plan my next move. “I’ll have to lower her guard somehow.” I muttered under my breath. As soon as class was over I walked towards the area where she went earlier hoping to bump into her. To my surprise, I find her talking and smiling with a group of students inside a classroom. I slowly approached as I listened to the conversation so that I can join in and to my delight, I hear someone calling her name. “See you tomorrow Katherine,” I hear a girl say to her and wave goodbye. Katherine looked at the girl and waved back, her hand froze in the air as she saw me entering the classroom. “So your name is Katherine. I like it, I think it suits you well.” I said with a charming smile as I approached her. I could hear all the girls squealing and as much as I wanted to shift my attention to them, I had a goal in mind that I needed to stay focus in. “Is that so? Well thanks I guess.” She said in a sarcastic tone as she turned around trying to ignore me. “Oh no, you won’t ignore me this time,” I said in my mind as I quickly blocked her way and leaned forward to meet her gaze. Such a sneaky gaze that liked running away from me. “So Katherine, let’s get to know each other. As friends of course. How about dinner tonight?” I said giving her a friendly smile but her eyebrow raised. “Dinner? I don’t have time for dinner. Take someone else.” She responded uninterested. “Come on, Katherine, just give me a chance to show you who I am. I promise, we won’t do anything bad…unless you want to of course.” I smirked but she turned around and walked to exit the classroom. “Wait!” I said as I rushed towards her. “Why do you hate me so much!?” I said feeling frustrated. She stopped and walked closer to me. She leaned toward my ear and said, “Because you’re a player. You only get what you want and move to the next one. You don’t take any girl seriously and you seem to think that everyone has to like you. But not everyone does,” she pulled back and gave me a fake smile. I stood stunned watching as she walked away. My blood was boiling and I wanted to humiliate her. I wanted to run towards her and push her against the lockers as I force-kissed her in front of everyone but I’m sure, that would only make her more angry at me. I swallowed my pride and walked away. I was done chasing her, for now at least. I’m not giving up and will make her regret every rejection she has made me go through.
