- 34 - - 34 -“I wonder how long the reception went on,” I said. “Depends on how long the booze held out,” George said. We were in the deluxe suite at our first destination of a whirlwind honeymoon tour of upscale inns and B&Bs. We had left the insanity of our wedding reception around 9:00 p.m. and drove off in Mother’s Mercedes. (She insisted—so long as no tin cans or “just married” signs desecrated the vehicle.)
