Young Vanilla walked up to him, as the rain gracefully and heavily fell on them, she noticed the person kneeling in the mud in front of her was someone of her age judging from the height and weight. “What are you doing here?” she asked in a low tone, touching the person's back, “Hello.” “Ahhh!!” “Ahhh!!” “Wait what?! I know you. You are who they called Mudlark.” “Mudlark? Actually my name is Peirce.” Young Peirce said without looking at her but focused more on the swamp in front of him. “What are you looking at, all by yourself. Hm?” young Vanilla asked, Peirce scratched his head. “Chai! I can’t say but during my time outside the village walls… ” “You went outside?! But you are too young to do so, what about your parents, shouldn't they stop you?” "I don't have." "Oh! Sorry I didn't know." “Yeah, I think. As I was saying, outside the village I came across something that actually caught my eyes for the second time I was outside the walls. A flower that blooms strangely but beautifully under the sun rise. Amazing, huh? After, checking what it was, I went to the flower and touched it… ” “You touched it?!” “Yeah. I did then to my surprise I saw seeds floating around the river and I thought it as to be the seeds of the beautiful blooming flowers, so I pick it up, return back here and planted it, as you can see that is what I'm doing.” “Hmmm. But you planted it in the mud why?” “I don’t even know why. Let’s see.” Young Peirce said about turning to face Vanilla, her father shouted behind them. “Daughter!” he called, young Peirce immediately looked away and ran from the scene, Vanilla’s father noticed it but doesn't care since it was raining heavily and too dark for him to see clearly. He looked straight to young Vanilla as he walked to her. “Who were you talking to?” he asked, young Vanilla smiled. “It was… ” She turned to her amazement, she didn’t see anyone. “Where is he?! I thought… ” She scratched her wet head. “Don’t worry. Let’s go inside your mother is worried.” She nodded. “Okay Father.” - Two days later. Few children of the Inhumanes were playing around wearing masks with various color as all of them held short sticks on their hands within the village streets. “Am one of the Immortals. The Dragon hunters. Grrrrrlll!” one of the children said stretching his short stick to the sky. “Grrrl? Immortals... don’t groan Grrrl, Node.” “Then what do they say. Lola?” “I don’t know. Vanilla what did your Father said they did... or how they move their mouths?” young Lola asked looking at young Vanilla, “Vanilla?!” she called again, young Vanilla didn’t answer her in that she was staring at young Peirce from afar. Young Lola walked up to her, “Hey come on. Why didn’t you answer?” she said, poking her back with her short stick. Vanilla flinched almost dropping her own short stick. "Anything?" she asked, blinking, "I was calling you but you didn't answer, what were you daydreaming about?" “Oh! Sorry I was not, I was actually looking at something.” “What were you looking at?” Young Node questioned as he walked towards her, looked at her face, traced it to the direction she was looking earlier, traced it to the swampy area. “So you were looking at the Mudlark.” Young Node said, young Vanilla turned the other way, slightly blushing. “Hey guys! Vanilla was staring at the Mudlark our parents said we should not play with.” “Really, your parents said that?!” Young Vanilla asked in excitement, staring at Young Peirce from afar. Young Node walked to her front and placed his hands on her shoulders. “I know what you are thinking, Vanilla. Don’t go--” Before he could finished his words young Vanilla pushed him out of her way. “Am going.” She ran then looked back, “See. Am wearing a mask he won’t recognize me.” She laughed. - At the swamp. “Hmmm.” Young Peirce said as he stared at the huge mountains after the swamp then he looked down and drew what he saw while sitting on a stone. “What is that white sand on the tip of the mountains?” she asked pointing her short stick to the location of the mountains. “They are called Snow.” “Wow, that?! Have you gone there before?” “Yeah. Only once and that was the last time because I was chased by ice bears trying to devour me raw.” He chuckled, “I barely made it out.” He said then his eyes widened. Wait who am I speaking with?! He thought as he slowly looked back, Young Vanilla jumped to his front. “Hi!” she greeted waving her hand while her mask was on. Peirce after seeing the mask got scared and fell. “Oh my bubbles! Who are you?” he cried crawling back. Vanilla laughed as she put a short stick on her mouth area. “Shhhh! You are too noisy.” She expressed. “Am the girl you talk to two days ago remember? And I don’t want my Father or Mother to know that I'm here. I think she having a baby soon.” She enlightened as she dropped her short stick from her mask. Young Peirce nodded continuously and weirdly. “Oookay.” He said, pick up his paper and something that looked like a sharpened charcoal. He continued his drawing. “How do you learn all this?” she asked looking at Mountains. Young Peirce smiled. “How I learn. I learn all this not by doing it immediately, but by playing it in my mind over and over again until it becomes a fully grown, huge specified thing, then and then I act upon it.” “So if you die trying to overthink it.” He smiled again. “Then the great thing dies with me.” “Hmm. you talk like... forget it. So that is your meaning of fully recognizing the specified thing before you do it, that's funny to hear.” Young Vanilla glanced at his drawing. “Wow! You can really draw.” She praised. Looking at young Peirce. “Teach me!” Young Peirce widened his eyes. “Teach... you? I don’t… ” Young Peirce stammered. She leaned forward drew her short stick to Peirce's fore-head. “No not yet. Am hiding from a lot of people," she sighed, "no. I can’t wait. Teach me! Teach me!” Peirce swallowed then stopped his drawing. "Well, I will teach you if... " “Daughter!” young Vanilla’s Father suddenly called, Young Peirce looked behind her. He was spooked by what he saw.
