Peirce and Sniffia walked silently towards the village square for the naming. Above, the sky, freckled with stars as the wind gently blew under the cloudless night with the moonlit spilling on them and the empty huts on both sides of the walk way, moving closer, Inhumanes chattering can be heard at the village square and they could see the Inhumanes various glowing light shining through the night, concentrating on the village square tall trees. Already Peirce's Grandma was there as one of the elders of the village. Peirce stared at Sniffia for a while then Sniffia looked at him, he immediately rolled his eyes away and swallowed. “Hey bubbles, speak am listening,” Sniffia countered, "Bubbles?!" Peirce reflected, adjusted his small orange bag on his back then cleared his throat, “hmm,” he scratched his head, “why change of mind, as in three days ago you were sent to kill me and today, you are a… ” he related, “A friend?” she stated, vividly looking at the sky as the moonlight reflected from the surface of her eyes with such beauty and a little bit of sadness on her face, Peirce swallowed then they walked a little further without saying a word to each other. “What did my Grandma told you, that change your belief about us?” he asked breaking the quiteness between them, Sniffia sighed, lowered her eyes to Peirce, “Knowing Fath-Lord Jared is dead, I kind of think there is no one left to… ” She stopped, “Love you as a friend?” “Nah, love me as a father.” Sniffia answered, looking back at the stars in the sky, Peirce gently nodded, “Okay, so what did you and my Grandma talked about?” Peirce asked trying to see the reason why, for the sudden change of character. “She told me so many things while you were asleep but there was one she said that actually got me rethinking my whole life,” she expressed then looked at Peirce, “...To find meaning in my loss and derived a new purpose from it,” she recalled while clasping both hands behind her back, Peirce smirked, “Wow, my old lady is good!” he cheered, then he relaxed, “then what is your new purpose?” Peirce asked smiling, suddenly Sniffia pumped her fist together and let out a harsh breath, “To kill every last dragon of course!” she said, tautly, Peirce shuddered, “Hey come on, we are still really young to think like that, I…” Peirce was interrupted by Sniffia fingers on his mouth, she looked around the area where they stood, sniffing, Peirce stared at her in amazement, also he looked around then at Sniffia still sniffing, she moved her head around then removed her fingers from Peirce's mouth, Peirce leaned closer, “What? What... Any trouble?” Peirce stammered, Sniffia looked at Peirce, “Where is my knife?” she said extending her hand towards Peirce, he stood still staring at her in confusion, “Why, what do you need it for?” Peirce fretted, “Give me or we will be dead!” Sniffia cried, Peirce swallowed then he put off his bag, unzip it and brought out Sniffia’s dagger with his two fingers holding it in disgust, Sniffia looked at him and sighed, collected it and faced the other side sniffing, “that thing or pack, you are holding, did you make it?” Sniffia asked looking everywhere, Peirce blinked, then looked at his small orange bag, on his hand. “You mean, orange. Yeah I made it, it's called backpack or you can call it a bag,” he announced, Sniffia position her nose moving her head, to a shade between two huts then her eyes caught something behind the barrels. “Found you!” she cried, charged towards the shade then leaped, diving to the person behind the barrels, kicked the barrels and overpowered the mysterious person, Sniffia sat on the person on the floor, putting her dagger on the person’s neck, Peirce looked shocked, suddenly the person glowed purple, brightening up everything around them most especially illuminating on Sniffia’s body, she widened her eyes, “You!” “Is good to see you once again, Miss foxy!” the person said in a slivery tone, Peirce came running, seeing the person on the floor, he frowned. “Node! Why are you here?” he said then looked at the village square from afar, “you should be there not... " “Are you spying on us?!” Sniffia thundered with her venomous little eyes, placing her dagger really closer to his neck, Node swallowed, “Okay, okay. I was not actually spying on you guys, I was trying to figure out...” “Figure out what is between Peirce and I?” Sniffia thundered, as her dagger deepen into his skin, “You are hurting me foxy,” Node gasped, Peirce held her shoulder, “Please Sniffia you have to let go,” Peirce said in an appealing tone, Sniffia left out a harsh breath, eyeballed Peirce then stood up from Node, threw her dagger back to Peirce, he widened his eyes, jerkily caught it on the air and immediately put it back inside his small orange bag, Node also stood up holding his neck then he giggled, both Peirce and Sniffia stared at him in amazement, “I never thought there will be a day, having someone protecting you, Peirce apart from your Grandma, where did you go to during those five days you were missing,” he smirked and continued, walking to the direction of the village square, “see you there,” He said still glowing, Peirce and Sniffia both shook their head. “I thought you knew his scent, like we meant him three days ago before entering the village,” Peirce stated, Sniffia nodded, “Yeah, I know, bubbles, surprisingly he had no scent on him." "What?! Did you mean that? A person without a scent, with that one will be untraceable." "I too, don't get it. either he have the ability to hide his scent from me or he is not an Inhumane." "But we saw him glowed, so... " "The truth is he wasn’t the only one spying on us, not only today, ever since we arrived to your village.” Sniffia admitted, Peirce stepped back, looking everywhere, “Then who again?” he muttered, “I don’t know, bubbles,” “Okay,” he drew in a long breath, “let’s be calm, let’s forget about all this and go to the naming,” he said, Sniffia nodded and about going, Peirce held her back, “wait I forgot, you can't go like this,” he unzip his bag, Sniffia looked at herself. “You can’t glow,” Peirce stated. “Oh, so then what are you going to do?” Sniffia asked, Peirce looked at her and smile, “Watch me,” he looked into his bag, “yes! I brought it,” he said, looked around, having seeing no one, he held Sniffia hands, “follow me.” He said with a smile, Sniffia stopped and held back Peirce’s hand as he stumbled to the ground. “Why?” Sniffia asked, looking anxiously at Peirce on the floor with her hand still on his hand, he looked at her then sighed while standing up. “Okay, I will tell you just this once, if they noticed you couldn’t glow like us, they will definitely do something bad to you.” “Hmmm, okay.” Sniffia agreed, "After the changes on your body. Don't go anywhere near the elders of the village, most especially the grumpy one, I repeat don't go anywhere near the elders of... " "Alright, I get it, bubbles." Sniffia interrupted him. Peirce smiled and held her tightly while Sniffia glanced at Peirce's fingers between the spaces of her fingers, perfectly fitted with his then she smirked as she was dragged to the shade in front of them.
