KIMBERLY POV
“Oh my!!! If it isn’t my daughter-in-law-to-be,” Nick’s mom cheered and opened her arms wide for me to hug her.
I lean in and hug her lightly.
With the corner of my eye, I see Mrs Moore grimace.
“Good evening Ma’am,” I greeted as I hugged Nick’s mom and pulled away.
“You’re so adorable. Just call me mother,” Nick’s mom replied as she caressed my cheeks.
I know that she had never been harsh to me, but seeing her over ecstatic like this made me feel wary.
Who would blame me? When every member of Nick’s family has been hostile towards me except her.
What if she was trying to lure me to be comfortable with her before she revealed her true feelings about me?
Mrs Moore just stood quietly beside me and pretended not to be paying attention to my conversation with Nick's mom.
