Lilly and I sat on the couch and Jared sat on a chair staring out the window like a guard. "Jared, you say that you are the gamma, so I am your assignment?" I asked, looking at him. "Yes, though I am the prince's gamma. The gamma is meant to protect the Luna," he said, standing up stretching. "I am going to look around," he said, giving me a small smile before taking a bow and leaving the living room. "Odd," Lilly said, taking a bite of her ice cream. I looked at her with questioning eyes. "I would assume he didn't want any part of you based off that reaction," She said softly. "Yeah, maybe," I said. I heard the elevator door ding, assuming it was Jared leaving. I did not bother getting up.
"Well don't the two of you look comfortable?" his smooth voice said, filling my ears.
