The Rogue Alpha

Episode 15

REX

“Alpha!” Rachel had mind linked me while I sat in my office looking at a map of the all the pack’s territories in the U.S. I was closely looking at the border between Ocean Wood and my pack.

“What is it?” I growled.

“Alina took off during training.”

“WHAT?!” I could feel her whimper through the mind link. “Why?! How could you let her?!”

“I kinda let slip about her Alpha status. I’m sorry, it was an accident. Alina, she didn’t want anyone to know yet. She seemed pretty upset. She shifted and ran.” Rachel was whimpering. I was scaring her. She knew I was angry with her, but I knew it was an accident.

“We will talk later. I have to go find her.”

ALINA

I didn’t leave the territory. Where would I go? Besides, I didn’t want to leave Rex. Goddess, I never want to leave him. Instead of leaving Red Woods, I went to the border between Ocean Wood and Red Woods. On the other side was my home taken over by rogues who call themselves the new Ocean Wood. I felt Kiiya pace across the forest floor. She felt my anger and didn’t know what to do with all of it.

You should have told him from the beginning. Kiiya growled. We shouldn’t keep secrets from our mate.

I wasn’t ready. It’s not something I like to remember, you know that. I argued.

Whatever, no more secrets. Promise! Kiiya clawed at a tree. Bark flew off in pieces as she jumped back down to her paws.

I promise!

She stopped pacing. Kiiya lifted her nose to the air turning to the forest behind us.

What is it?

A large white wolf stood out against the tall, dark, and towering trees. It was Rex’s wolf, Levi. Kiiya purred and took a step closer to Levi. Before she could, Rex had shifted back. His member was large, even when soft.

Rex was focused though and didn’t want to mess around. “Don’t shift yet.” He said. Rex pulled a bag from a nearby bush and pulled out fresh clothes for himself. He tossed the bag at Kiiya’s paws before he put on the shorts and a large t-shirt that did not do his muscles justice. Rex stood there waiting for me or Kiiya to do something.

Give me control, Kiiya. I need to talk to Rex. I ordered.

Kiiya whined before she gave me control and let me shift. I quickly pulled clothes from the bag and slipped them on. The shirt was way too big for me, but the shorts would do quite nicely.

“You can’t run away like that!” Rex grumbled. “I was worried about you. Rogues are after you, Alina! You can’t just leave!”

“I know. I know. I’m sorry. I just—I just didn’t want to relive it. I haven’t even talked about home for eight years, Rex. I was on my own because of what those rogues did to my family. How exactly do I bring that up?” I had tears in my eyes now. My chest ached. My body froze and I fell to my knees. Every part of me wanted to run from him. I couldn’t face it again. I shrieked, tears streaming down.

You can. You have to. Kiiya murmured. They took our home. Rex ran to me and knelt in front of me. They took our home, Alina. Let’s take it back.

“Alina.” Rex whispered. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry about your family. I’m so sorry that I didn’t tell you what I knew. I just wanted to give you time. Goddess, Alina, please stop crying. I don’t want to see you cry.” He pulled my head to his chest and stroked my hair instantly calming me.

Kiiya’s words echoed in my head. Let’s take it back.

I sniffled and pulled away from his chest. I wiped my tears and together, we got to our feet. “Rex.” He gripped my waist and pulled me to him, intently listening. “I’ll be your Luna. I’ll be your Luna and we’ll protect Red Woods together. When we’re ready, I want to take Ocean Wood back.”
