Wow! She figured she could easily get in touch with Matthew’s parents. How many Lutheran churches could there be in a small town? Her intuition told her that the Ericksons would surely have a recent photograph of their son, at least as recent as the one from his high school yearbook.
But after lunch, she began to get cold feet. How could she ask the guy’s parents for a photo to show around campus to find out whether anybody had seen him with Violet? She dialed Lieutenant Hanson’s number and told him her thoughts.
“We have already talked to Matthew Erickson’s parents,” the lieutenant told her. “We plan on getting a wire service to transmit a photo of Matthew to the media right away. Good idea to post it around campus too. We’ll do that.”
