Our little secret
Immediately Sarah heard Ted's conversation with an unknown caller, she knew the manager intentionally planned to steal from the company.
She brought out her phone and pressed the recording button to have evidence against him.
“She absolutely needs to be dealt with, if she doesn't call his attention. We would have been in money by now, he trusted me and doesn't question my decision.”
“I am so sad the deal doesn't work out. I am even scared I may lose my job for it. He has never talked to me in that manner before.”
“No way forward, if I still remain in the office. I will look for another means but for now I need to save my job first” Ted responded to the caller.
“Stop calling me for now because I don't want anyone to suspect anything. I will only be the one to contact you. Goodbye” Ted hanged up.
Sarah was able to capture his voice and knew she had caught him red handed.
She stayed calmly and thought of the whole situation but mustered up the courage to knock at his door.
“Yes come in” Ted responded.
Sarah stepped in with much confidence. She approached his table with all courage in her “ Weldone sir ” she greeted.
Ted became furious as he sighted Sarah in his office, he stood up to her “ Ohhh… you want to apologize for your wrong '' he yelled.
Sarah stepped back a bit to give space between them, maintaining her confidence with a smiling facial expression “I came to give you this letter.” she said as she stretched her hand to him.
Ted snatched it from her quickly and went through it. His hands were shaking and started sweating profusely as he was reading. This was bad news that he never expected this fast.
“You caused this” He screamed.
“No, you did it to yourself” she said as she played Ted's conversation captured.
He moved closer to snatch the phone but Sarah is smart enough to hold it tightly. She laughed loudly.
“What do you want to do, break my phone or what?” Sarah said loudly.
“Please, keep your voice down. Just help me delete it please. I am doing this for my family. My salary is not sufficient for them, I just want them to have all they need. Please” Ted sobs.
“You know if I play this for the CEO, you will be arrested and end up in prison?” Sarah asked.
“Yes, yes .. that is why you need to have mercy on me” Ted continue begging.
“But you plan to deal with me, I am not safe” Sarah enquired.
“AHH… is just an empty threat. Nothing will happen to you” he assured her.
I will keep our little secret but if any one attacks me, my family and friends already have this record and will use it against you. Is that clear?
Ted nod in agreement.

Tony was sitting on his office sofa, seriously lost in thought on how to replace his manager. This is unexpected event for him but he needs to take the right action before he ruin the company for him.
It's already late and everyone had left the office. He was alone in his thoughts and decided to take a stroll around the office hall as he kept thinking on his next move.
“Who is there?” Tony asked in surprise
“It's Sarah, your secretary” she responded.
Tony walked down to where she was seated and busy with some paperwork.
“What are you still doing, the work hours is over” Tony asked.
“I am just trying to finish my to do list, I will soon round up for the day” she explained.
“So you make sure you meet up with that everyday?” He enquired.
“Yes. It's a challenge I set to hold myself accountable for my daily output.” She responded and kept doing her things.
“That is interesting, keep it up” Tony encouraged her as he turned to leave.
“Thank you sir, by the way I am sorry for upsetting you earlier” she apologized.
“No. I guess I am the one to say thank you for being dutiful to your work” He commended.
“It's my pleasure,” she said as she bend her head to resume her work.
Tony took a walk away and he was thinking how Sarah has been so dedicated to her job. “She must be a reliable person to trust, what if I offer her an acting managing director position?” He thought.
Tony walked back to where Sarah was seated. “Welldone Miss, can I have your attention for sometime when you round up?” Tony asked politely.
“Yes, I am already done.” she said sharply.
“Okay” Tony grabs a seat and sat directly opposite Sarah “How are you able to suspect that the suppliers are not real” he questioned.
“My uncle was into this same business before he got bankrupt. A supplier also offered him a ridiculous discount just like this and he fell for it. This leads to his sudden death through heart attack. I quickly detect it's a fraud transaction from my uncle's experience” she explained.
“Ohh, I am sorry about that” Tony consoles her with his calm response.
“I am okay, we are healing gradually” she said.
“Do you only know about the administrative part of the business” Tony inquired.
With a bit of a smile on Sarah's face “ No, I know everything about running the business. He carries me along with all the production activities. None is strange to me.”
Tony cleared his throat, raised his head to look straight into Sarah's eye “That is great and quite interesting. I would like you to be my acting manager.”
With a bit of tension, Sarah looked up and nodded her head in disagreement to Tony's commands. “ No sir, I am not the best for that position. I will look like a bad person to my co workers and Mr. Ted.”
“Why do you care about them? This is your chance and I will like you to take it. Let me know your conclusion tomorrow” he said and stood up from his seat.
Sarah was still in shock as he watched Tony leaving her to his office. “How could he pick me among all the other workers? Why can't he employ a new staff for the position?” she kept asking herself questions she can't find answers to.

Sarah was in her bedroom pressing her phone. The cotton was down and only the lamp beside her bed give illusion to the spacious room.
She dialed a number on her phone. She just wants to talk to her best friend about this new position she has been offered. She felt guilty of taking it while she also wants it to explore her potential in the company.
After explaining all her ordeal to her friend, “You can't eat your cake and have it, just take the position and don't mind what others have to say about it” Sarah's best friend; Linda responded.
Sarah and Linda have been best friends since childhood, they have celebrated two decades of friendship with their families. They know what is going on in each other lifes and seek advice from one another.
She is the only person that can relate with what Sarah was feeling at the moment. That is why he seeks advice from her. With Linda's approval to take the new position, it gives Sarah more confidence to accept it.
“Thank you my friend, I will consider it” she replied with a bit of comfort in her heart. She just wants to know if she is a bad person calling Tony's attention to the transaction.
“You are welcome, sleep well and resume tomorrow as the new manager” Linda said and laughed to cheer her friend up.
They end the conversation and Sarah puts off her lamp. Sleep
with one side facing her window. Not quite long, she slept off.
“Yes, she is the one….. take her…..” A voice commands
