Beginning of new Duty
“What, please don't take me away….” Sarah kept begging for her life as she was rolling side by side on her bed when her phone alarm rang.
She quickly stood up, her cover clothes were wet with sweat and breathing heavily. “Ohhhh…. What a terrible dream” She exclaimed with her hands on her chicks, moved to her eyes to rub off the sleep.
She quickly makes her way to shower and get dressed for the day. Someone knocked on her door.
“Yes, you can come in” Sarah's mother came in with a cup of tea. Sarah is just a replica of her mum in appearance and behavior. “Mum, thank you. I am running late already” she said as she grabbed the teacup from her.
“Alright my baby, just be courageous and you have my support to take the new role” she said with her hands around Sarah's shoulder to give her side hugs.
“Thank you mum. I have to go” she responded as she hug her back and made her way out of the room.

As Sarah was approaching her desk in the office. Exchanging greetings with others Caroline rushed to her “ Good morning Sarah, I heard the manager has been dismissed” she whispered.
Sarah felt so horrible with her approach. How comfortable will she be asking her this early in the morning. She squeezed her face a bit “ Yes, I heard so too” she responded.
“I hope you don't have anything to do with this because I can see him angry at you yesterday” Caroline asked.
This made Sarah get more pissed. “Why will you think I will do that? Moreover I am not the CEO” Sarah slammed at her as she pulled out her chair to sit.
“People go extra miles to get whatever they want. That is why I am suspecting you, no offense I am just asking” Caroline said and leave immediately before Sarah could respond.
“Ohhh….” Sarah kept wondering what they might have been saying in the office for Caroline to be interrogating her like this. “Nothing is stopping me, I will take the position” she said firmly to herself.

Tony is in his office and puts a call through, “meet me in my office” not quite long for Sarah stepped in.
“Good morning sir” she walked in with calmness and boldness.
“Welcome, what is your conclusion on the offer?” Tony asked.
“I have taught about it and I am ready to take it” she responded.
“Good for you” I will be having a board of directors meeting in the next 30 minutes and you have to be there so I can introduce you to them.
“Okay Sir, any other things to take along for the meeting?” she asked
“Yes. The documents on this table” Tony responded sharply
Sarah picked the document and left his office back in her seat to wait for the meeting.

In a conference room filled with executive chairs, everything is fully lighting with AC running. The room is cold and feels comfortable for brainstorming.
Sarah was feeling strange in the room. This is her first time in the company board of directors mist and doesn't know how her new appointments are going to be for them.
She looks around and she is the only female in the room. “ Uhmmm…. I hope this goes well” she thought.
Tony started the meeting and read out the agenda for the day to them. The directors are staring at Sarah and she already knows what is on their mind. “ Who is she and why is she here?” she thought.
“Due to Mr. Ted misleading information which may lead the company into bankruptcy made me to laid him off yesterday after my brief online meeting with some of the directors.”
“And here is Miss Sarah Johnson. She is my secretary and I want her to be the acting manager for this company. I nominate her based on her dedication to work and attention to detail. She also has experience in this company's production activities.”
“I would like the members to accept her and let her try to explore her potential for this company.” Tony addressed the members and applauded him for his speech.
“Do you think a female can handle this position?” A member asked.
Sarah raised her hand to answer and she was permitted to talk. “ Thank you, I may be the only female among you but my gender doesn't stop my ability to deliver. My uncle has taught me how to manage a business, and he delegated many tasks for me before he became late.”
“With my experience I believe in myself that I can handle the position” Sarah defend herself with all confidence in her and all applauded her for her bravery.
The members voted and she was accepted to take over the position. Sarah was happy and couldn't hide her joy as she was blushing while shaking the members welcoming her on board after the meeting.
She was excited as she was making her way back to her office “See me in my office now” Tony commanded.
She nodded in agreement “ alright, sir.”
The news of Sarah being the acting manager spread around faster than her expectations. As she was stepping out of the conference Room, some of the workers congratulated her while some just passed by.
She made her way to Tony's office. She never thought of this day at all but it's already happening to her. Yet she reminded herself more of responsibility awaits her in the new position.

Tony was in his office expecting Sarah, so they can start their meeting. While arranging the files, someone knocked “You can come in” He said.
Sarah stepped in with her black heels shining and each step shows how confident she is in herself. Tony can't resist looking at her elegant body shape approaching him.
“Excellent speech out there” he commended.
“Ohhh… Thank you and thanks again for this opportunity to serve you more” Sarah appreciated.
“You are welcome, I just hope you give in your all not to disappoint me” he encouraged her.
She smile and responded “I will.”
Tony started showing her various activities needed to be performed and upcoming project plans. She listened attentively to all and the meeting ended after all stones had been touched.
“You can move to the managing director's office from tomorrow. It will be set up for you before the end of today.” Tony said as she walked behind Sarah to the exit door.
“Alright sir… I just……” Sarah turned to ask a question but her heels slipped and Tony quickly grabbed her waist with his second hand behind her to resist her from falling
