What is wrong with me?

1818 Words
I got a lovely wake-up call at 5:00. My mother came in singing 'You are my sunshine". She's done it every time she wakes me up since my first day of school, needless to say I kind of make sure that she doesn't get to do it too often. Though there are those odd occasions when they trick me into setting my alarm clock later so that she can. I got up and got dressed in a black skirt that was a little flowy and went to my knees, I also put on a professional white top with sleeves that went down to my elbows. I did my hair in a tight slicked back bun. Even if I didn't find this interesting I was still going to be professional about it. My father would be surprised. I usually never wore anything other than shorts and one of my tops that were anything but professional. They weren't slutty and they covered anything that could be considered inappropriate. I mean sure some of them were crop tops, but they went to right above my belly button, it is the 21st century. I walked down stairs and was greeted by my father in his suit and tie, and my mother making them coffee. I was a tea girl. Always have been always will be. "Saylor, you look amazing." My father said with a slight smile on his face. "Hunny I knew your growing up but dressed like that it makes it all become reality." My mother sniffled. I smiled back at her. "Don't worry mom, the moment we step foot back in the house this afternoon, I'm running up to my room and I'll put on my not so grown up clothes." This caused both my parents to laugh at me. I smiled slightly and went to the cabinet about the coffee pot to grab a bag of tea, my mother handed me a mug of hot water and I put the tea bag in it and waited for five minutes. I loved to watch the tea spread in the water until it was completely transformed into the tea, to me it was relaxing. Just the smell of it helped me calm down. After we finished our tea and coffee it was time for my father and I to leave, we both said good bye to my mom and walked to his car ready to go. We were close to the building when I decided to ask what we were doing for today. "So what do we have to do today?" My father smiled and obviously took my question for interest in the company instead of a question about what he was going to make me do. "Well until two we have simple paperwork to do, and then at two we have a lunch meeting with some high class men who want to merge the company with theirs. I figured that if you're going to take over, why not loosen up the workload for you so that you have a bit more free time. Besides until then I'm too old to be doing everything by myself. It's not that they'll be your boss so much as you'll just be partners." See what I mean, the man can't seem to understand that I want to do something bigger with my life, but if he wants to have someone else take over then I guess with this combining of companies, that it'll be easier when I tell him that I really don't want to do this. When we got to the company, I saw the secretary's scrambling to look busy. The unlucky ones who had nothing to do came up to us with fake smiles plastered on their faces. They always do this whenever I come in with my father, it's like they see me as their boss as well and they don't want to do anything that could potentially jeopardize their job when I 'take over' Being 'next in line' has its perks. "Would you like anything Miss. Saylor?" "Is there anything we can get you Miss. Saylor?" "Do you want-" "Do you need-" I let them all finish asking me questions 'patiently' before I answered them. "No thank you ladies there's nothing that I can be helped with but if I need anything or want anything I'll be sure you let you know." I smiled politely as they all smiled back a bit relived and walked towards their desk. We went up to his office and settled down for the paperwork we would be doing. The paper work was mostly easy simple things that my father has had me do before. There were a few new ones that he added on to my workload after explaining to me in detail of how it got to be on that paper and where it will go from there, let's just say it was a great headache since I really didn't listen to him any of the other times other than how to complete the papers correctly. Before I knew it was one and we had to settle things so that we could head out to the restaurant a half hour away where we would meet the 'partners'. I just had to put everything into neat piles of what I had finished and what I hadn't I asked one of the secretaries to put the papers in the correct districts mailbox. We left and hopped into a car that my father uses only when he went to meet with clients. There was a driver that came with it. I've known him since I was a little girl and would come in with my father on take your child to work day. His name was Henry, and he was a quiet but nice man. He would talk to me when my father wasn't too close to hear. He had two children that were my brothers age and a nice little wife who he always smiled about when I asked him how she was. The drive to the restaurant was quiet, my father usually never talks in the car unless spoken too, and I didn't have anything to say to him. I decided that texting Melody, Andy and Brody, was the way to go for the half hour car ride. They were pointless conversations full of witty, comical things, but never the less it passed the time quite nicely. We walked into the fancy restaurant that was the type that you would only see business people in doing business. It was quiet and fancy. We walked to a table that held two men that both looked like they were professional football players instead of business men. There was one who was quite more attractive than the other. I couldn't stop myself from looking him over, more than once. His head perked up when we got close to the table and he immediately looked at me. I didn't meet his eyes. I looked down to my feet that were covered in closed toed black heels. My cheeks grew hot just from the thought of him looking at me. We arrived at the table and my father held my seat out for me. I could still feel his eyes one me. I sat down and my father copied my movements. He greeted the two men. "Gentlemen I'm pleased to introduce you to my daughter, Saylor. Saylor this is Mister Benton," He pointed to the man who kept looking at me. "And this is Mister James." He pointed to the man who sat next to him who kept sending confused glances at his friend who wouldn't take his eyes off of me. "Please, I'm Ashton, but you can call me Ash, and this is my best friend and partner, Hayden." The overly attractive man who wouldn't take his eyes away from me said. His voice sent shivers down my spine, it was so deep and unbelievably manly. It excited me in ways that I could never have imagined. Without making eye contact I smiled kindly at them, hoping that they couldn't tell that my heart was beating at a million miles an hour. "Nice to meet you Ash, Hayden." I nodded in each of their directions. My father immediately got down to business with the two men as I pretended to be very interested in the menu. I could still feel his eyes on me ask he conversed with my father. Throughout the whole meal I kept to myself only talking when my father asked me a question, but at that I kept it simple. After what felt like hours it was time to go. I couldn't wait to leave. This whole situation just had my mind running at a million miles an hour. I said goodbye to the men, again without out making eye contact and almost ran out to the car. We went back to the office to finish the paperwork that we had started earlier. I couldn't seem to focus and get him out of my head. I didn't understand why. There was just something about him that made me want to go back to the restaurant and hope that he had waited for me to come back, but that wasn't at all a reality. We got home not to long after and I stuck to my word and changed into my normal clothes. I put on a crop top that was black with blue letters that said 'Want a sandwich?' and cut off shorts that weren't too short. I figured it would be a good idea to go for a walk and clear my head a bit. My parents had gone out for dinner and my sister was out at a friend's house for the night so I locked the door and stuck my head phones into my ears and began walking, letting the music take over my mind and ignoring what was going on around me. Before long it was getting pretty dark, and I noticed that I had walked more than I usually did. I was walking by the forest that was by two streets over. I didn't hear anyone walk up behind me. There were no shadows to give it away. Before I could even understand what was going on there were arms wrapped around me and my phone along with my headphones fell to the grown. I tried to scream but a hand was against my mouth. "Shhh, princess, calm down, don't be afraid I won't hurt you." I knew that voice, it was the voice I had been thinking about all day. The voice that goes to the body that made dirty thoughts go through my head. Before I could think to do anything about being in his arms, the darkness consumed me. My last thought before I completely fainted was, 'Why couldn't he of just asked for my number.
