Rose felt the desperation sinking in as she thought the creature wouldn't accept her deal. But the next second, the creature put its black hand with elongated talons on top of Rose's hand. "Your offer is terrible and ambiguous," he said, "but we want to give it a try." Rose sighed a relief. She smiled broadly. At that moment, the two made a covenant to bind their souls. As soon as they felt the pressure on their chests, the walls of the darkroom broke into pieces, becoming dust carried by the wind. Rose could again see the meadow that was their battlefield.
