*Lucien's POV*"Alright, let's review," I said, looking around the room. "Marcello, you'll accompany me to the meeting with General Franco. Giovanni, you'll provide security and make sure everything runs smoothly. Marco and Salvatore, you'll work with the general's team to ensure the evidence is handled properly."
The men nodded, their faces set with determination. We were a well-oiled machine, and we would see this through to the end.
"Let's get to work, gentlemen," I said, standing up. "We have a meeting to attend, and justice to serve."
The men stood up, their eyes locked on mine. We were ready to take down Vincent and bring him to justice. It was time to put an end to his schemes and restore order.
As we left the office, I felt a sense of anticipation. This was it. This was the moment we'd been waiting for. And I was confident that everything would go according to plan.
*Lisabeth's POV*
I sat in the dimly lit café, sipping my coffee as I listened intently to Leonardo, our informant and hacker extraordinaire. Sophia sat beside me, her eyes fixed on Leonardo as he spoke.
"So, you guys won't believe what I just heard," Leonardo said, a mischievous glint in his eye. "I managed to tap into the telephone servers and overheard some interesting conversations."
Sophia leaned forward, her eyes wide with excitement. "What did you hear?"
Leonardo smiled. "I overheard Lorenzo and some other guys talking about transporting organs. They mentioned something about meeting at the seaport and loading them onto a cargo ship."
My mind was racing. This was the break we needed. "Did they mention who was behind it?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.
Leonardo nodded. "Yeah, they mentioned Vincent Murano's name. It seems he's the one orchestrating the whole operation."
I felt a surge of anger. Vincent was going down. Sophia's eyes met mine, and I could see the determination in them.
"We need to inform the police and the media," Sophia said. "We can't let them get away with this."
I nodded, already thinking ahead. "I'll call Detective Ricardo Lopez and get him on board. Leonardo, can you send him the evidence?"
Leonardo nodded, his fingers flying across his keyboard. "Already on it."
As we worked together, I felt a sense of pride and admiration for Leonardo's skills. He was a valuable asset to our investigation, and I was grateful to have him on our side.
With the plan in motion, we waited anxiously for the outcome. Would we be able to bring Vincent down, or would he manage to slip away once again? Only time would tell.
I glanced at Sophia, and she smiled. We were in this together, and we would see it through to the end.
*Vincent's POV*
We arrived at the seaport, the sound of seagulls filling the air as we oversaw the loading of the organs onto a cargo ship. Dante and Lorenzo were handling the logistics, making sure everything was in place for the shipment to be "discovered" by the authorities.
As we watched the crates being loaded, I couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. This was going to be the final nail in Lucien's coffin. He would be ruined, and I would be the one to do it.
But just as we were about to leave, we were approached by a group of heavily armed men. They were dressed in tactical gear, and their leader was a man I didn't recognize.
"Vincent Murano," the man said, his voice firm. "You're under arrest."
I felt a surge of anger and confusion. How had they known? Who had betrayed us?
As the men moved in to take us into custody, I saw a figure emerge from the shadows. It was General Franco De Luca, a man I had underestimated.
"Looks like you've been caught in your own game, Vincent," he said, a smile on his face. "You should have been more careful who you trusted."
I glared at him, feeling a sense of rage. But before I could say anything, Lucien Reeves emerged from the crowd, a look of triumph on his face.
"Vincent," he said, his voice cold. "One thing I don't understand is that you tried to use one of my own to betray me, not knowing that one of your own could also betray you. You should never try to buy people's loyalty, instead try to value it, at least you get to think about that in prison."
I felt a chill run down my spine as I realized the truth. It was one of my own men who had betrayed me. I looked around, trying to see who it was, but Lucien just smiled.
"You'll find out soon enough," he said. "But for now, let's just say that you're going to be spending some time in prison."
The men moved in, handcuffing me and reading me my rights. As I was dragged away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of defeat. I had underestimated Lucien, and now I was paying the price.
*Lisabeth's POV*
I sat at my desk, staring blankly at my computer screen as I tried to focus on my work. But my mind kept wandering back to the investigation, and the progress we'd made so far. Suddenly, my phone rang, breaking my concentration.
I picked up, and Leonardo's voice was on the other end. "Hey, Beth. Can we meet up? I need to talk to you about something."
I hesitated for a moment, wondering what he wanted to discuss. "Sure, Leo. When were you thinking?"
"How about now?" he suggested. "I can meet you at that café down the street."
I agreed, and we made plans to meet up. As I arrived at the café, I spotted Leonardo already seated at a table. He smiled when he saw me, and I took a seat across from him.
"What's up, Leo?" I asked, curious about what he wanted to talk about.
Leonardo leaned forward, his eyes locked on mine. "Beth, I don't want to come off too hard but I wanted to talk to you about us. Look, I know we've been working together on this investigation, and I've really enjoyed getting to know you better."
I felt a flutter in my chest, sensing where this conversation was headed. "Yeah, I've enjoyed working with you too, Leo. You're a great asset to our team."
Leonardo took a deep breath. "I was thinking, maybe we could be more than just friends. I know it's not the most conventional thing, given our working relationship, but I really feel a connection with you."
I was taken aback, but I tried to process my thoughts. I valued our friendship and working relationship, and I wasn't sure if I was ready to take things to the next level.
"Leo, I...I don't know what to say," I stammered. "You're a great guy, and I've really appreciated your help on this investigation. You're smart, talented, and have a great future ahead of you."
Leonardo's face lit up with a smile. "Thanks,Beth. That means a lot coming from you."
I took a deep breath, trying to gather my thoughts. "I need some time to think about it, okay? You're a really nice person, and you've helped us so much. I just need to consider everything."
Leonardo nodded understandingly. "Take all the time you need, Beth, I just wanted to be honest with you about how I feel."
I smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. "Thanks for being honest, Leo. I'll think about it."
As I left the café, I couldn't help but think about Leonardo's words. I valued our friendship, but I was also intrigued by the possibility of something more. I decided to talk to my friend Sophia about it, hoping she could offer some insight.
When I met up with Sophia, I filled her in on my conversation with Leonardo. "He asked me if we could be more than just friends," I explained. "I don't know what to do."
Sophia listened thoughtfully, her eyes sparkling with interest. "Well, Beth, you have to consider what's best for you first, I mean he's hot and nice, But also, think about how this could affect our investigation. Having a closer relationship with Leonardo could actually help us get more information and boost our case."
I raised an eyebrow, intrigued by her perspective. "You think so?"
Sophia nodded. "Yes, definitely. And let's be real, Leo is a smart guy with a great future ahead of him. He's going to make a lot of money, and he's already proven himself to be resourceful and intelligent, But do you like him?" She inquired.
Which made me do a lot of thinking.
I've always wanted a hardworking handsome hot as hell guy for myself and I kinda like Leo, he's funny, hot, hardworking and he treats me like a queen.
I smiled, feeling a sense of relief. Talking to Sophia had helped me clarify my thoughts, and I was grateful for her insight, I knew I could count on her always.
" I really do, but I'm scared, he seems too perfect but Thanks, Soph. You've given me a lot to think about." I confessed.
"And since when has been perfection been a red flag, besides if you're that worried find his flaw" she said
"What did I ever do to deserve a friend like you?" I said moving toward my bestie to hug her."I love you so much, Soph"
"Love you more, Beth"
Soph, is my biggest cheerleader and I can never replace her.
Her Family, The Bianchis' literally forced my sisters and I to stay at one of their apartments and ever since have never taken rent from me.
I love them, they make me forget that I'm an orphan.
*Lucien's POV*
I stood out by the balcony sipping wine and thinking of my life so far.
I think I'll settle down before Mom passes.
"Hey, handsome" My baby said.
I know the ruthless Lucien Reeves has a woman in his life.
Her name is Patra Fernando. She was at the age of 20, sold by her father for a carton of cigarettes and beer, so I bo
"Bambina, Regina mia, I've missed you" I said taking her lips into mine and kissing her hungrily.
"So, how's work been?" She asked on my lips.
"Great, leave work, I want you" I said moving towards the master bed.
She laid down and I laid kissing every part of her body before insertion.
