Chapter 7: Something Sweet

3160 Words
Seijun's POV That night, I slept really peacefully. I woke up before my alarm which was quite unusual, but I paid no mind to it and started to freshen up. I walked to my bathroom and washed my face. I brushed my teeth then headed to the living room afterwards. My classes would start at 2 p.m. later, but it's still so early so I decided to watch a movie first. I scrolled for a movie to watch and found an interesting mystery movie. I sighed softly before getting up. I went to the kitchen and made myself some coffee. I checked the clock which read 7:36 a.m. and decided to make breakfast in a few minutes. When I finished making my coffee, I headed back to the living room and sat comfortably on the couch. Since I finished studying yesterday, it's kind of nice to relax for a little bit. I think I could go to school early later. I need to read through my notes later before the quiz. I took a sip of my coffee and focused on the movie. After a while, I heard a door opening and came out an adorable sleepy Alexa. She walked towards me and plopped herself beside me, eyes still shut. "Hey, sleepyhead. Open your eyes if you want to watch the movie." I said then giggled. She groaned softly. "I'll hmmm... later." She sleepily said and curled up at the end of the couch. I shook my head and continued watching. "Want some coffee then?" I offered. She nodded, "Yes, please. Thank you." She said with a dopey smile. I chuckled. I got up and headed to the kitchen to make her some coffee. I added extra milk on her drink since she doesn't like bitter coffee. After making her coffee, I placed it down on the table then sat back on the couch. I glanced at Alexa and noticed her taking a sip of her coffee. The chilly early morning became so relaxing as we drank our coffee while watching a movie. "So, Sei, are you free this Friday?" Alexa asked. I pondered for a minute. "Yeah. What's up?" I looked at her. She smiled softly then said, "Mia and I were thinking of hanging out. Not at bars or clubs though!" I giggled at her last sentence. I nodded and smiled softly at her. "Sure. Why not? It's a good thing that my Friday classes are moved on Saturday." I sighed softly, realizing that I had to go to school on a Saturday. "That's kinda bad. I mean, school on a weekend?" Alexa said with a small frown. I giggled and nodded. We continued watching the movie in a comfortable silence. I loved how early mornings gave me a sense of comfort and relaxation. It was a couple minutes later when we heard a knock on our unit's door. I looked at the door then at Alexa. She gave me a wide smile, "He's here." She then rushed to the door and revealed a beaming Max. My eyes widened slightly then blinked several times. Max entered after giving Alexa a hug and a quick peck on the cheek. They walked to the living room and sat on the couch next to where I was sitting. I sipped my coffee and focused on the movie instead. "Good morning, Sei. You're up early." Max smiled, wrapping Alexa in an embrace. This little s**t is really showing off. "Yeah. I slept rather early. You're early, too." I smiled back at him, setting my cup on the table. "Well, I'm going to help Alexa with some school work then I'll drop her off at school later." He giggled, caressing Alexa's arm. I nodded and looked back at the screen. I can't always be a bit bitter about my friend's relationships. I could have always had that, but my stupid self decided to just hook up. I checked the time and it read 7:53 a.m. so I thought of making breakfast since I knew Mia would wake up real soon. I got up from my seat. "You want some breakfast, Max?" I asked and looked at him. He smiled, "Yes, please. Thank you." I nodded before heading to the kitchen. I decided to cook some eggs, toast, and a light salad. I made a bowl of cereal for myself while waiting for the toast. I was frying some eggs when I felt a chin rest on my shoulder. "It'll be done soon so you can sit at the table now." I said, not looking at the intruder. "That's nice then. I'll wait at the table." I heard Mia said before walking away. I smiled softly. After cooking, I set the food on the table then called out for Max and Alexa. "Oh. Max's here?" Mia bit her toast then waved at Max who was approaching us with Alexa clinging on his arm. I shook my head with a small smile then took my seat next to Mia. The couple sat across us and began eating. I took a spoonful of my cereal while the others talked amongst themselves. "I'll be betting that the rumor won't die down for a while." Alexa said, nibbling on her toast. "You could say that again. The school's gonna be buzzing for quite a while." Mia sipped on her coffee. "That was a disaster, huh? It's Hazuki's fault for hooking up with her." Max sighed softly. "That i***t. I know he knew that Nicole was a student!" Mia exclaimed. "It was a good thing you were there, Sei! Hazuki might've looked hideous if you weren't there to interfere." Alexa smiled. I smiled back at her, "Yeah, well. I just did what was right." "Thank you for helping that i***t. I'm sure he just teased you afterwards." Max smiled sheepishly which made me chuckle a little. "Yeah, but that's fine. I'm glad he could still talk." I then finished up my cereal. "Well, I have to get ready." I said, taking my empty dishes. Mia's eyes widened at me. "But you still have a couple of hours before your classes." She said, mouth full with food. I giggled, "I'm going to the library to study." "You always study so hard, Seijun." Max giggled which made the two girls scoff. "She is! Even though she hooks up here and there." Alexa whispered the last part. "I heard that!" I exclaimed, making them chuckle. "I got to go, guys. See you later." I said then went straight to my room. They hummed in response and continued eating. I closed the door then headed to the bathroom. I was stripping my clothes when my phone suddenly rang. I raised a brow then answered, putting it on loudspeaker. "What?" I groaned a bit. "Woah. Did you wake up at the wrong side of the bed, Sei?" That's Mr. Owner's voice! "Oh. It's just you." I replied. "That's just mean, Sei. Anyways, I want you to drop by the coffee shop before heading to school." "Why?" "Just stop by, alright? I got to go now." He then hung up. I blinked for a couple of times, dumbfounded. What the hell? Hazuki's POV I smirked to myself as I then fixed my watch. I got in my car then headed to the coffee shop. It was already opened an hour earlier, but surely there aren't that much people yet. I drove my way to the coffee shop and then parked it on my usual spot before entering the shop. I greeted my employees with a wide smile then entered the kitchen. I rolled up my sleeves then put on an apron. "Is there anything we could help you with, Boss?" An employee asked. I beamed at her and shook my head, "No. But thank you. You can focus on your own work." I should start then. - 2 hours later - I finished the pastry that I was working on as well as the drink. I smiled widely, proud of the outcome. "Boss, someone's looking for you." I heard someone called out. I wiped my hands on the apron then took it off, hanging it back to its place. "Tell her that I'll be out in a minute." I added a few finishing touches on the plate before heading out with the tray in hand. I looked around and saw her on her usual seat by the window. I walked up to her and sat on the seat across hers. "Good morning, Sei." I greeted her with a soft smile. "Good morning." She replied softly. My eyes immediately landed on her lips. I want to taste those cute pink lips so bad. I then blinked away my thoughts then pushed the tray towards her. She tilted her head at me in confusion. "That's my sorry gift for what I said yesterday. It's also my thanks for what you did for me." I smiled then leaned back on my seat. I then called for one of my employees and asked him to bring me a cup of latte. "Are these Éclairs?" She asked. Her eyes sparkling as she stared at the treat. I gave out a soft chuckle then nodded, "Yeah. I want you taste something else rather than those crepe cakes you like." She then bit her lip softly before taking a treat into her mouth. She hummed in delight. "It's so good." She mumbled, but loud enough for me to hear. I smiled at that. "Do you like strawberries?" I asked. She looked up at me then nodded. "I love them in pastries and sweets." She said softly, finishing the treat in her hand. Her eyes the focused on the drink beside the pastries, "Is this coffee?" "It's vanilla latte. It's not that sweet, don't worry." I said. My coffee was served afterwards. I took a sip from it while watching her reactions. "Alright then." She smiled softly then took a sip from her drink. Her eyes widened a little and her cheeks flushed a light pink. "Well? Is it good?" I asked, putting down my cup of coffee. "It really goes well with the Éclairs." She then set down her drink. I'm glad she liked them. "That's good then. I'll be happy to make them for you again if you like." I smirked a bit at her. "That would be nice." She replied then stared at me all of a sudden. I looked at her in confusion. "What is it?" "There's flour on your nose." She said. I touched my nose to try and get rid of the flour. "Here." I was a bit shocked when she leaned forward and wiped my nose with her handkerchief. The tip of my ears felt a little warm. "There. It's gone now." She gave me a small smile. I smiled back at her. Oh. If only you knew the things I want to do with you, Seijun. You're so adorable, I just want to break you then put you back together. "Hazuki. I'll just have these fixed then I'll go. I need to go to school." Her voice made me snap out of my train of thoughts then I nodded. "Sure. Let me fix it up for you." I said then took the tray. I headed to the counter and fixed her treats and coffee for take out. I handed her the bag of treats with her coffee. She then pulled out her wallet. I glanced at the cute puppy keychain dangling from it then giggled. This girl acts cold and distant yet she couldn't hide her adorable side. "No need to pay for these. It's my treat." I stopped her from taking out her money. "But--" "Nope. These are my treat. My thanks and apology. Accept them, please?" I pleaded with my most convincing puppy eyes. She bit her lower lip then sighed, "Alright. I better pay you back soon or I'll become in debt in this shop." I laughed. "I'm looking forward to it." I smiled at her. She shook her head, smiling a bit before heading out the coffee shop. I watched her figure disappear from my sight before letting out a long sigh. Damn. I'm smitten. I propped an arm on the counter and rested my chin on my hand, staring out the coffee shop. I bit the inside of my cheek before sighing once more. "What're you sighing about this early in the morning?" I thought I heard Hiro's voice in my head. I shook my head then sighed again. I felt someone smack the back of my head, making me lose my thoughts. "Who the hell--?" I turned to my right to see Hiro standing beside me, coffee in hand. "You kept sighing in this beautiful morning so I snapped you out." He said as a matter-of-factly. I rolled my eyes at him then decided to walk to my office that was just above the coffee shop. Hiro was trailing behind me. "What are you doing here, anyway? Don't you have work to do?" I asked once we arrived at my office. I sat on my leather chair while he sat on the couch. "I do have work, but I start in the afternoon so I decided to stop by. Max's busy." He said, a pout forming on his lips. I shook my head and just checked the documents laid out on my desk. There aren't that much documents. I might finish early. "By the way, why were you in such a daze? It's the first time I've seen you look so constipated." He took an annoyingly long sip of his drink which made my left brow twitch. "I'm not constipated. I'm frustrated." I simply said. "Is it because of Sei?" I glared at him slightly. "I knew it!" He exclaimed then laughed. I rolled my eyes at him. "So what if it's about her?" I crossed my arms on my chest. He stopped laughing then smirked at me. "You're smitten. I can tell." He wriggled his eyebrows at me. I scoffed. "So what?" "Tell her! It's not that bad if you tell her how you feel." "No. That's not happening. I need to make sure she'll feel the same way." I said before rearranging the documents. "That's true, but still--" "There's no rush, Hiro. Let's just take it one step at a time." I smirked at him which made him groan. "Well, if you say so then fine." He leaned back on the couch and sipped his drink. My thoughts then drifted back to Seijun's lips wrapping around the treat. They looked so soft and plump. I traced my lips with my thumb then subconsciously touched my nose. The scent of her perfume on her handkerchief was so intoxicating, so sweet. I wanted to kiss her right then and there, but of course, I needed to hold back. "Earth to 'Zuki! Hello?!?!" I flinched at the loud voice near my ear. I instinctively slapped Hiro's cheek. "What'd you do that for?!" He exclaimed, holding the cheek that I slapped. "You're so annoying! Why'd you shout near my ear?!" I retorted. "'Cause you're spacing out! You're phone's ringing for the past couple of minutes!" He huffed then sat back on the couch. I sighed then answered my phone. It's going to be a long boring day. - A few hours later - I finished up a meeting about a partnership. It surprisingly went well, but it took longer than I expected. I went back to the coffee shop and headed to my office. I loosened my tie and groaned. The meeting took too long that I had to skip lunch. I'm so hungry. I checked my watch and saw that it was already past 2 p.m. which made me groan even more. Lunch can wait a bit more. I'll have to finish a couple more documents. I wonder if Sei already had lunch. I smiled a bit at the thought of her. I was flipping through some documents when the door swung open. I looked at the intruder and there stood Max with a couple of plastic bags in hand. "Hey, man. What're you doing here?" He smiled at me then set the plastic bags on the coffee table between the couches. "I bought lunch. I haven't eaten yet and thought maybe you haven't too." He said while taking out a couple of containers out. "You guessed right. I'm famished." I immediately got up from my seat and sat on the couch across Max. "These are sushi and some tempura. You like them, right?" I smiled. "Yeah. Though, my mom makes the best sushi." Max giggled at that, "I know." "By the way, Friday. You're coming, right?" I looked at Max while popping a whole piece of sushi in my mouth. I nodded at him. "That's great. I'm sure it's going to be fun." He said then ate his meal. "Yeah. Do you know what we're doing on Friday, though?" I then took a gulp of water. "No. Alexa didn't really explain what we're doing." I hope it's nothing too difficult or tiring. "I heard from Hiro that you kept spacing out today. Is someone bothering you?" I raised a brow at him. "You're seriously assuming it's a person? Can't it be an object or an animal?" I scoffed at him which made him chuckle. "Well, it's kind of obvious that it's a certain someone." He smirked at me. I squinted my eyes at him. "You're scary." "So tell me what happened with this person." He took a bite from his meal which made me scowl a little. "I'll tell you when we hang out later. I don't want to deal with a whining Hiro." "True. That's going to be hard to deal with." He replied with a small smile. Our lunch was filled with small talks and teasing. After eating, Max left for work. I removed my tie and rolled my shoulders. Time to start working again. I growled softly then decided to see if Sei was free. I sent her a message asking if she was on break. It was a couple of minutes later while I was scanning through a document when I received a reply. Seijun: Yes. Just for 30 minutes though.. I giggled knowing that she must be really bored. Type Message: That's plenty enough for a break. Seijun: No it's not. >:[ She's too adorable. Type Message: By the way, you better share the Éclairs with the classmate you were with last time. It took a couple of minutes before I received a reply from her. Seijun: No. They're mine. I'm not sharing. My eyes widened and my heart skipped a beat. My lips curved in a smirk while my cheeks and ears heat up. I covered half of my face with my hand to lessen the growing heat of my face. I swear this woman is going to be the death of me.
