Chapter 1 Rejection

1331 Words
Laura's POV Gulping at the scene, I feel like I could faint any second. I gaze at the man in disbelief. The first thing that pulls my attention is Alpha Leon's appearance. He possesses striking good looks with chiseled features and a strong jawline. I can't help but scan, from his face, to his torso and legs. He is built, at 6'2, like how I characterized him in my novel. His most captivating feature is his piercing blue eyes that exude charm and dominance, making him irresistible to those around him. Now stop telling me it is wrong to judge a book by its cover. I know the theory. I just can't practice it in reality. Especially not when a sexy God is literally appearing in front of you and looking at you as if you are everything he cares about. Who can say no to this temptation, anyway? I swallow the dryness suddenly forming in the back of my throat, aching to accept him. But as I glance the audience over his shoulder and spot the female lead I created, my rationality takes the better side of me. Alpha Leon just called me Agnes Garcia, which is definitely not my name. The name belongs to the protagonist I wrote about. As the evilest woman in the fiction, Agnes is supposed to be exiled by the pack and die alone. To be more specific, she is going to be bitten by a vampire and torn apart by rogues without no one coming to her rescue. I strongly believe that such an ending will satisfy my readers because Miss Garcia has played low to obstacle the romance between Alpha Leon and his fated mate Judy Green. Shit. It is already frustrating to find that I have become someone else. And the fact that I become a antiprotagonist whose pathetic ending just makes my mood even more gloomy. "This is so unfair," I mutter to myself and start pinching my arms, hoping that I am in a dream and the pain can free me from this nightmare. "Are you alright, Agnes?" Alpha Leon whispers. He is still waiting for me to make my vow and be his Luna. If I weren't the author who knew the subsequent development of the story, I would happily agree to his proposal. We would have a crazy night and he would make me c*m several times a night with his huge manhood. The next morning I would show off those red marks to his true mate and humiliate that poor omega, chanting that she was someone worthless and unwanted, making sure her heart was shattered into pieces. Then Judy would leave the pack and no one would ever notice that she is gone. A week later Alpha Leon would discover that I had faked the pregnancy and be mad at me. Three months later, his Beta would be bribed by the vampire prince and rat me out, informing Leon that I made a deal with the witch, enchanting him to believe I am his mate. And his true Luna has left the pack because she couldn't bear the pain. Alpha Leon would get furious and step on the journey to find his Luna back. As for me, I would be cursed, stoned, and got deported. Half a year later, I would die pathetically on the same day when Leon Williams and Judy Green have their wedding ceremony. I shudder at the thought and exhale sharply, "No." "No? What are you talking about?" The smile on Alpha Leon's face falls. He looks at me with confusion. "I can't do-o this-s." I stutter, shivering at the bloody scene that I prepared for Agnes Garcia. I had thought such a scene could stimulate readers' emotions and make them cheer, but now I couldn't be more regretful. I should have written a fairy tale targeted at the audience under 10, whose content mentions neither s*x nor violence. "Agnes," Alpha Leon raises my chin and looks at me. I can read the upset and sorrow in his eyes. He is startled that he is going to be rejected. Of course he is dumbfounded! After all, if the story developed in accord with my setting, Agnes Garcia just told him that she would love him forever before the beginning of the ceremony. I take some steps back, alienating myself from him. He growls low and wants to approach, but I stop him by placing my hand on his chest, "Don't come closer, please." "What is happening?" The audience starts to whisper to each other. People who are in their wolf forms now are shifting back to human forms. It is understandable. Otherwise, they can only use howl to gossip and this is quite inconvenient. Despite feeling shy, I decide a confession to the whole pack is necessary. Sincerity is the only way to make them understand the situation and forgive me. I take a deep breath and give Alpha Leon a sad smile, "I would love to have you as my Alpha. However, I am not your mate. I did horrible things to win this position. I cheated." "Hey, Agnes, playing strategy to win an Alpha's heart is alright." John Cooper, Leon's Beta steps forward, trying to console me. "Is it?" I let out a hollow laugh, not bothering to look at him. I focus my eyes on Leon's face and say, "What would you say if I contacted the pack doctor to fake my pregnancy?" The chatting audience sinks in silence as if what I said were a spell, and they were all muted. "What would you say if I made a deal with a witch? I brought Luke to her, allowing our sworn enemy to conduct the experiment. She gave me a potion that could enchant Alpha Leon to fall in love me rather than his true mate." I say, and look in Judy's direction. The poor girl is trembling, eyes widening in shock. Luke's mom is crying, calling me b***h and I dare not to look at her. I clear my throat and ask nonchalantly, "Do you still consider it is fair to play strategy to win an Alpha's heart, John?" Before Beta Cooper can answer me, I feel a hand chockholding my neck and the grip tightens around my throat in every passing second. I can't breathe and I can't scream. "Why did you do this to my pack, and to me?" Alpha Leon snarl with fury in his eyes, "Answer me!" "I can't-spe-eak." My voice is broken. The grip loosens and I gasp for air. I feel a scream building in my chest but I refuse to let it out until I have the problem solved. "Because I am designed to be evil. I am an antiprotagonist, and it is the author who should take the blame!" "Do you think I will believe such stupid excuses?" Alpha Leon bares his teeth. "I am telling the truth!" "You're talking none sense." Alpha Leon snorts. He puts on a poker face and raises his hand in the air, signaling John Cooper to approach, "Kill the traitor and send her body to the witch and bring Luke back." "What if the witch refuses to trade with us?"asks John. "This is not a negotiation, John."Alpha Leon chuckles darkly, "Tell the witch to release Luke or we s*******r her den and burn them all. As for this she-wolf, well, she is merely a gift. Do I make myself understood?" "Yes, Alpha!"Cooper exclaims and heads to me. Luke's mom agrees amusingly. I don't know the woman's name because she is a side character and I didn't bother to work out one for her. As they corner me, my eyes widen in horror. I want to flee, but my feet are glued to the ground due to fear. I am frozen and cannot move my legs. The next thing I know is that a hand goes for my neck, wrapping it slowly, and then… Crack.
