Kendrick I hadn’t even realized my feet were carrying me toward Kimberly until I was halfway across the room. She stood near the grand fireplace, a soft glow from the flames catching the green of her dress. Her posture was perfect, regal even, as she nodded politely to the elder from the neighboring pack. She was poised, her every move calculated and careful. But I knew better. She was angry. I could see it in the subtle tightness of her jaw, in the way her fingers curled into her palm when she thought no one was looking.
