Kimberly Morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, yet its warmth did nothing to chase away the chill that had settled deep within me. I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, the events of the previous night replaying in my mind like a cruel, unending reel. My heart thudded heavily in my chest, each beat a reminder of what Kendrick had said before storming out. There will be consequences. The words echoed like a dark promise.
