DAY 6 HOW THE REBELS FOUND ME When I woke up it was six a.m. I had been lying on the ground for fourteen hours. I was still shivering. When I stood up my back hurt a lot, but that wasn't my only problem. I had a stomach ache. Something I had eaten or the cold that I felt during the storm made me sick and I had diarrhea. I couldn't allow myself that luxury, it could weaken me irremediably, so I took two pills of anti-diarrheal to cut it off at its roots. I drank water and ate the leaves that I had left in the backpack, which left an unpleasant bitter taste in my mouth. At least it made me feel alive.
