Savior. Part three.

1070 Words
For the next several days the lifestyle on the Frosty Mountain Peaks slowly returned to its usual flow. Soldiers were training and practicing their sword skills. And Draken finally was a bit relieved, so he, too, returned to his usual rhythm. But still, his mind wasn’t calm. He was constantly thinking about Leiandros. And that is why he started reading. He read everything on his way just to ignore his feelings. But it was very difficult. So difficult that when Silver showed up and invited him to his clan, he immediately agreed.   “I didn’t expect that you would accept my invitation. But I am very happy that you accepted it. In my clan, I am always bored. Training, fencing, listening to my father’s lectures and that’s all. I have no friends at all. You won’t believe me but it’s been a while since I’ve talked to someone. My father doesn’t let me have fun or relax a bit. But now, I won’t do anything, I am going live my life and pretend like there are no beasts and everything is fine. By the way, Draken have you been in my clan?”   “No. Never.”   “Well, this is even good. Then, I will be able to surprise you. I want to show my gratefulness to you. Also, you are very interesting to me. You don’t want to be a hero, all you want is to live and read books. Am I right?”   “Quite right. Of course, I want to destroy all these beasts, but my heart is longing for other things.”   “What kind of things? If it is not a secret.”   Noticing a strange glow in Silver’s eyes, Draken felt a bit uncomfortable. “My heart is longing for sun, for crystal blue sky and for knowledge.” Staring at him with his enchanted eyes Silver repeated, “For sun, for crystal blue sky and for knowledge.”   Following Silver, Draken was happy that finally he could leave the First clan, even if for some days.   The path to the Third clan was a bit difficult and long. Localizing on the top of the third mountain, the village of the clan was surrounded with white fields.   Walking already for an hour, Draken didn’t feel any exhaustion at all. Maybe that was because of Leiandros’ way to teach them how to be more enduring. Remembering his face when some of the soldiers felt tired, his face which showed nothing but a disgust, Draken involuntarily smiled and didn’t even hear Silver’s voice.   “Draken are you listening?”   “What? Yes. I am listening.”   “What did I say?”   Looking at him, Draken blushed and shook his head. The smile was still on his face.   Silver stepped closer to him. Grabbing him by the hand he said, “You are such a dreamer. And I think I know what you are dreaming about. About your teacher. Am I right?”   Hearing this, Draken screamed out and almost fell down. “What?!”   Hardly balancing on the ice, he tried to look indifferent. “What made you think so?”   Silver seriously answered, “Let’s say, my intuition is very good.”   Pushing him away, Draken blushed again and walked away.   The ice was quietly cracking underfoot. But none of them cared about it. Seeing how Draken was clumsily stepping on the ice, Silver smiled and took his hand. “You’re so funny Draken.”   After one more hour, they finally reached the village of the Third clan. Without even noticing that they climbed to the top of the third mountain, they stopped in front of the iron gate. Silver approached the gate and said, “Welcome to my clan.”   The moment when Draken stepped the lands of the Third clan, he was mesmerized. Unlike the village where Draken was living, this one looked very different.   The tall wooden houses with perfectly carved patterns on them were like the houses from the fairytale. Lots of wooden benches, tables right under the open sky, but what attracted his attention the most were wooden sculptures. These were the sculptures of wolves, warriors, snowflakes and every figure was beautifully and skillfully carved.   Draken, who read many fairytales in his childhood, felt like he was in the real fairytale.   Seeing the soldiers in the dark uniform and red vests, he noticed that they were too, the part of this fairytale. Training as usual, they looked like they were in a harmony with nature around. “This is where I live. I hope you’ll like this place,” Silver said.   And Draken happily exclaimed, “Are you kidding? I am in love with this place. This is amazing! It is a real fairytale. And all these wooden sculptures! Silver I love this place!”   Approaching the first wooden sculpture which resembled the warrior with an arrow, he looked closer and was amazed by the talent of the unknown sculptor. “Who created all these?”   Silver hesitated for some seconds but then answered, “It is me.”   “You! You are the sculptor?!” Exclaiming loudly Draken attracted everyone’s attention to himself.   “Yes. It is me. It is nothing actually. This is just my hobby.”   “Don’t be ridiculous! This is the piece of an art. You can’t imagine how happy I am to see such beautiful things. I’ve read a lot of books about sculptures and art, but these skills existed a few centuries ago. I thought that they are forgotten. Silver, I want to stay in your clan a little bit longer.”   “I am happy that you liked my sculptures. But I have another surprise for you. But for now, we should go to the Main House. My father is awaiting you.”   “Your father?”   “Yes. What’s wrong?” Draken whispered, “I am scared of him.”   Laughing out loud, Silver hugged him by the shoulders and whispered, “I am scared of him too.”   When they were in front of the Main House, Draken noticed two gigantic warriors. Standing still, with their swords, they didn’t pay any attention to them. Only when they got closer to the house, one of them cast a glance at Draken but immediately looked away. Feeling the tensed atmosphere around, Draken took a deep breath and entered the house.
