“You must be worried. Draken don’t hide it. I can see that you are worried. Today is very important day. I am worried too.” Storm said wandering in the room.
Draken, still in bed, was looking somewhere in front of him.
The coldness of the early morning gave him unpleasant sensation.
“Today we will see who and how can survive in the first battle with those creatures. Draken are you listening to me?”
“Yes.” Draken replied and got up.
“You don’t think about the final battle, am I right?”
Draken silently went up to window and noticed that soldiers were already waiting for him.
Storm approached him. “You are thinking about Leiandros. But you should think about yourself. You have been entrusted with such an important role. You are teacher of the whole clan and Raghnall respects you very much. Draken, not everyone at your age reaches such heights.” Putting his cold hand on his shoulder he continued, “Raghnall’s motives are clear. He wants to create a great warrior out of you. And you shouldn’t miss this chance. With your powers, you can change this world. But don’t allow this love take possession of you.”
Ignoring his words, Draken looked at him and just said, “Let’s go now.”
“Did you even hear what I said?” Storm grabbed his hand and this time shouted, “Forget about these feelings. If everyone finds out about them, it will be hard for you and for Leiandros. Do you really want to ruin yourself and Leiandros like this?”
Freeing his hand, Draken calmly answered, “Don’t worry brother.”
Once outside, Draken felt the piercing wind. A leather jacket didn’t protect him from cold at all. Specially dressed in comfortable clothing, Draken was ready for the final battle. And even having gathered his hair in a bun like Leiandros, he did everything that Leiandros did when he was here.
“Draken is here!” someone shouted and everyone surrounded him.
“In the fight with Bigfoot can we use knives?”
“Draken do you think I will win?”
“I didn’t sleep last night. I couldn’t even close my eyes. And all because of this Bigfoot. He scares me.”
“Stop talking!” Storm exclaimed.
Draken, silently looking at everyone noticed that almost all of them were frightened.
So he smiled and said, “I know you are scared. Ahead of you is not training but a real battle. The battle for survival. And there won’t be any training s. You are standing face to face with an incomprehensible future. And no one knows if we will survive our first fight. We don’t know anything. And it scares. But sometimes fear gives you strength. Because later, on the Battlefield, fear can help you to survive.” Draken sighed and a steam escaping from his slightly parted mouth clouded his face. Looking at everyone again, he pointed towards the training field and exclaimed, “Let’s face our uncertain future!”
Walking in unison, the soldiers secretly were keeping Draken’s words in their hearts.
Noticing a few soldiers of the Second and Third clan, Draken realized that he was late.
Sensing the impending panic, Draken repeated Storm’s words in his head. “If everyone knows about your feelings, Leiandros may meet his end.” Repeating this over and over, Draken entered the Main House.
Confidently walking forward, he and his soldiers were already among the crowd.
Due to the bright lights that were everywhere, Draken’s shone with exquisite beauty, showing his delicate facial features in the best light.
The silver – colored iron barrette that perfectly held the bun of his hair reflected the lights, giving shine to his black hair.
His tall figure moved forward with elegance. Slightly wrapping his right hand around the hilt of the sword which brilliance dazzled everyone, Draken felt like he was walking ahead for an eternity. And all because of Leiandros who was standing next to Raghnall and who didn’t take his eyes off him.
“Finally the soldiers of the First clan have arrived. What took you so long Draken?” Sun asked.
Ignoring him, Draken bowed before Raghnall.
Raghnall stood up from his throne and with happiness in his eyes looked at him. “Draken, I think you and your soldiers are ready for the final battle.”
“Yes Master.”
Draken, while looking at Raghnall, with his peripheral vision noticed Leiandros. With all his might, trying not to turn in his direction, Draken went back to the soldiers.
With a smile which surprised everyone, Raghnall said, “Leiandros, when you were their teacher, they didn’t look so brave and confident. Now just look at them. They are ready to face all the difficulties.”
Seizing the moment, Sun said, “Draken isn’t the only good teacher here. Here is Leiandros too. And I am very proud of him. With him, my soldiers completely have changed.” Saying this, Sun looked at Draken but he behaved like he didn’t know him at all.
Sitting on the chair, dressed in a heavy fur coat, the head of the Third clan, Sirius coughed and stopped his gaze on Silver. “I hope you taught my son everything. I hope you won’t fail my expectations. If my son is the same as he was before, then I will be very disappointed in you Draken.”
Laughing, Raghnall said, “Don’t make pressure on my soldier. Or do you want him to lose all his confidence?”
Skipping unimportant conversations, Draken was standing as if he had lost the power of speech. The lights of candles around him seemed imperceptible to him, dim, in compare with Leiandros’ eyes which were staring at him.
The noise in his ears turned into an unpleasant ringing. He stopped thinking and his feelings made his heart beat so fast that he wondered about how love can control the soul and mind.
Interrupting his state in oblivion, Sun approached him and said, “Draken, you are so ill – mannered. Don’t you think that you should show some respect to your teacher Leiandros? After all he gave you his place, show some respect.”
Sun’s words hit Draken harder than any sword.
Raghnall agreed with him. “Sun is right. Draken, greet your teacher properly.”
Suddenly, his legs became heavy and he couldn’t make a step. His voice trembled, his heartbeat echoed everywhere. Forgetting about Storm’s words he said, “I know that it is not acceptable to have feelings in this world. Especially, to love someone. Love makes you weaker. But when you love someone everything ceases to exist.” He turned to Leiandros and for the first time, looked into his eyes. “I can’t stand it any longer. I can’t hide my feelings. I love Leiandros. I love him with all my heart.” Now, fixing his gaze on Sun he continued, “In this world, everyone will do everything so that you are not happy. Sun, your threats don’t scare me anymore. Since I found my happiness, I am afraid of nothing now. Your blackmail is no longer valid. Master Raghnall, I will tell you two things that I was silent about. First, Sun, he is hiding one of the beasts in his house and he wants to use its power and go against everyone. And second, I love Leiandros.”
The ringing in his ears was quickly replaced with Leiandros’ voice.
Looking in front of him as if under the spell, Draken couldn’t do or say anything.
“Draken?”
“Draken are you alright?”
“Teacher!”
Not knowing who the voices belonged to, Draken drifted on the surface of his consciousness until he felt Raghnall’s hand on his back.
“Draken are you feeling bad?” he asked looking at him with concern.
Sinking into his illusions, Draken, as if waking up from a dream, muttered something but immediately came to his senses and said, “I am fine. Master, there are so many soldiers so why don’t we start now?”
