Enemy. Part two.

1080 Words
“What do you mean Leiandros? Where are we going?”   Draken’s loud voice almost shook the branches.   “We are going to the Burnt forest.”   Hearing this, Draken left speechless.   Since the very childhood he was hearing many stories about the place which is called “The Burnt Forest.”   Localizing right between two mountains, next to the frozen lake, this forest was the only place where dragons lived. And even now, they are still there.   According to legends, this is a horrifying place where every single tree was burnt and where one could hear the voices of those who died under the raged flames of winged creatures. When Draken wanted to ask something Leiandros stopped him with his angry look.   Following him through the dense forest, he sank into the distant memories from his childhood. The times when he was following his father. Through the forests, through the branches, just like now, when he is following Leiandros. But now, looking at Leiandros’ broad back, he knew that he is no longer a child. And the man who is walking in front of him, means a lot. He realized it and with this realization he felt a slight pain in his heart. Thinking about many things, he sank into melancholy. He didn’t even notice that Leiandros stopped walking.   “Where do you think you are going? There is nothing ahead of you.”   As if waking up from the dreaming, Draken looked at Leiandros. Without saying anything he just went up to him.   “Draken I am sorry,” Leiandros suddenly said. His eyes were full of frozen tears. “I am sorry for that night. I mean, about what happened. If you are disgusted, then you can hit me. I won’t get mad.”   Hearing these words from Leiandros, Draken wanted to laugh but he restrained himself. He looked away and said, “Don’t worry. I am not mad at you.”   “Let’s go then,” Leiandros said.   “Leiandros wait.”   “What?”   After a moment of hesitation Draken shook his head and without saying anything went ahead. Walking in front, he felt Leiandros’ gaze on himself. Trying hard not to laugh, he was very cheerful. In spite of Blaze and his blackmailing. Maybe that was because still, he didn’t know about the fact that Love is prohibited in this world. He was happy. Because finally, he was alone with Leiandros. When they reached the cliff, Draken took a deep breath and it was like millions of sharp needles pierced him through. Shaking off the frost from his lashes and hair, he rubbed his palms together.   The snowstorm has subsided but the wind, mixed with frost, was walking everywhere.   Looking down to where the cliff led, Draken exhaled and something warmed his body.   He noticed that Leiandros was looking straight at him. His look pierced him more than the frost itself. Feeling some kind of fear from this gaze he frowned and said, “Why are you always looking at me like this? Stop it.”   Slowly approaching him, Leiandros changed his expression and now was less intimidating.   Standing so close to each other, they felt the sparks that began to heat this frosty air.   Looking at each other, they were like fire and ice. But with every second, they changed their roles and someone became fire and someone became an ice.   Standing like this, they stopped the passage of time.   They were sinking, they were screaming, but most of all they were happy. Suddenly, breaking the silence, Leiandros whispered, “Draken, what have you done to me?”   Draken stepped closer to him. The frost on his long eyelashes fluttered with every blink. Fixing his gaze on Leiandros’ red, chapped lips, he involuntarily touched his chin and the next moment he pulled Leiandros towards himself. Cold lips covered him with a warm wave.   Freezing in this position, Draken felt Leiandros’ lips becoming warmer from his breath. Feeling Leiandros’ hand on his shoulder, Draken wanted to step away but Leiandros embraced him.   “I was waiting for you,” Leiandros whispered.   They were frightened. They didn’t know what is happening. But they couldn’t stop.   “Leiandros.”   “Draken.”   Creating the moments of tenderness, they didn’t even notice that night was already around them. With the coming of the night, Leiandros left Draken under the pine tree and went to collect some branches. Still unable to return to his old thoughts, Draken’s hands were shaking and his skin was burning after Leiandros’ touches.   He smiled. It was a happy smile.   The fire painted his face with a warm color. Stretching out his hands towards the fire, he looked up. The sky was full of heavy clouds. He lied down right to the snow and closed his eyes. Hearing footsteps, he said, “I kindled the fire. And the weather is fine. I think we shouldn’t look for a cave. We can stay right under this tree.”   “You’re right. The weather is really nice.”   It was the voice which didn’t belong to Leiandros.   Blaze, standing over him, said, “I am sorry if I scared you.”   Jumping up like a frightened cat, Draken grabbed Leiandros’ sword and exclaimed, “You!”   There was a dull laughter. Blaze with his confidence went up to him. And the presence of the sword didn’t frighten him at all.   Through the curtain of darkness, two sly eyes were looking at him.   Holding the sword Draken asked, “What are you doing here?”   “Don’t look at me like I am your enemy. I am your friend my dear Draken. I am your friend and I know your little secret. But I must say that today you didn’t care about the noises you made.”   Draken lifted up the sword.   “You are wonderful.” Blaze said without taking his eyes off him.   Stepping closer, Blaze brazenly and confidently grabbed his hand and forcefully lowered it down. “I just need your help. That’s all. There is nothing to be so angry about.”   Pushing him aside Draken restrained himself from punching him. Puffs of steam rushed out of his nose making him look like an angry bull. “You are living the life of the stone Blaze. You can only watch how other people live. And that’s it. I am sorry for you.” Draken said and the smile flashed across his face.
