After that happy incident in the canteen, everyone led Draken towards the Main House.
“I think you are mistaken. I didn’t do anything heroic,” Draken said trying to stop everyone.
Den tapping him on the back said, “Don’t be so shy. We all know that none of us is ready to face these creatures. But you, without a proper training, defeated one of them. No wonder that you are famous now. And also, you saved someone very important.”
“He is right.” Raghnall’s voice was heard. Approaching him, Raghnall happily smiled at him. “Draken, there is no need to deny it. All these young soldiers are applauding because you showed the bravery and you saved the life.”
Hearing these words, Draken felt a bit uneasy. He perfectly knew that it is Leiandros who defeated the beast. “Master, I don’t think that it is a big deal.”
Raghnall shook his head. Leading him towards the house he said, “My clan needs a lot of good warriors. Now, I see that you will become the hero.”
“But Master it is not…”
“If you’re going to say that it is nothing then don’t expect me to be kind. Fighting in the Battlefield without completing your study, is prohibited. You broke the rule. So if you don’t accept the fact that you are respectable now, then you’ll get a punishment.”
“Don’t be so angry with him Master.”
In the hallway of the house, as usual it was dark.
Hearing someone’s footsteps in this darkness, Draken recognized this voice.
With slow and accurate steps, a young warrior with bandaged hand appeared from the darkness. It was that warrior because of whom he fought with the beast.
Approaching them, the young warrior bent his head and it was obvious that still, he was in pain. So, he said, “Master, I don’t think that Draken deserves a punishment. If not for him, Master, he saved my life.”
Draken felt even more ashamed.
And then, looking at him, he added, “He saved my life. And I don’t think that he deserves it.”
Without saying anything Raghnall looked at Draken once more and this time there was a pride in his eyes.
“So master, how will you reward my savior? Maybe I should ask my father to throw a feast for him, what do you think?”
Understanding that this young warrior wasn’t just a simple soldier, Draken, only now, could see that his facial features were a bit like Sirius’ features. (The head of the Third clan)
Raghnall nodded his head. “You are right. I think Draken deserves this. Here, the heroism is very praiseworthy thing. It can’t be ignored or be forgotten.”
The young warrior thanked him and left them.
When they were left alone Draken said, “Master it is not me who killed the beast. You must know that it is not my merit.”
Raghnall silently sat to his throne. Still looking at him with a pride he said, “Do you know who is this young warrior? He is Sirius’ son. You saved his life and that’s what matters the most.”
Standing in bewilderment, Draken wanted to say something but Raghnall stopped him. “Sirius and I, our friendship is not good enough these days. Sometimes I even worry about what can happen next, to our clans. But now you have made everything easy. Sirius, he is very grateful man. If you do something good to him, he will never forget it. Draken what you have done is your merit. Even if you don’t think so, but in Sirius’ eyes and his son’s eyes, you are a hero. That is why you shouldn’t be sad. With your help, maybe I will be able to gain the friendship between our clans again.”
“So, you’re thinking about your own benefit in this situation? Master, it is not true. I didn’t save him. It was Leiandros. He killed the beast. And now you want me to pretend like it is my merit and thus you’ll have your own benefit?”
Raghnall broke into quite laughter. “Draken, this is the war. We are warriors. And this world is in hands of cruel nature. We don’t know what will be next. So, you better think about your own behalf and be grateful for such a good chance to gain some reputation.”
Feeling anger, Draken went up to him and shouted, “What kind of reputation are you talking about? Yes, we are warriors and that is why we shouldn’t care about reputation or fame. I want to be honest with everyone. I am not a hero. The real hero is Leiandros. Why are you ignoring this fact? Leiandros is the best warrior. Only because of him I am still alive.”
Saying this he with quick steps went towards the door.
Knowing that situation is not so serious, but still he felt some kind of injustice. And being a hero in everyone’s eyes didn’t feel good at all.
Feeling ashamed to go back to everyone, he went towards the nearest forest.
The weather was calm. He didn’t even need a scarf.
After the fight with the beast, he still could feel the pain throughout his body. But the pain was weakening with every thought about Leiandros and their kiss.
Everytime he thought about it, he felt these millions of butterflies again.
Thinking about it over and over again, he felt the tension, he felt his embrace again. But he was interrupted by someone’s footsteps.
It was the young warrior.
“Draken here you are.” Noticing that he was acting strangely, he asked, “Did I disturb you?”
“Why are you here?” Draken asked.
The warrior approached him and when his face was close to him, he said, “I am here because of you.”
Now, Draken could see the facial features of this man.
A straight nose, very pale skin, pale lips and very black eyes with long lashes made his appearance extraordinary. And what attracted his attention the most was the color of his hair. A long strands of silver colored hair were dancing on the wind.
The young warrior still looking at him said, “Excuse me. How ill – mannered I am. I didn’t introduce myself.” Lifting his head up, he said, “My name is Silver. I am the warrior of the Third clan and my father is the head of the clan.”
Draken tried to forget about his worries and so he said, “Nice to meet you Silver.”
“Nice to meet you too, my savior.”
